No more beating my brainsthis line singing + banging against his ear > unforgettable and characteristic to Iggy The flesh machinehis dick I'm worth a million in prizesBeautiful line!! | i cant really choose individual lines cos the lyrics in this mean so much to me, so ill just post the song
"Some Weird Sin"
Well, I never got my license to live They won't give it up So I stand at the world's edge
Things get too straight I can't bear it I feel stuck, stuck on a pin
I'm trying to break in Oh, I know it's not for me When the sight of it all Makes me sad and ill That's when I want- Some Weird Sin Just to relax with
With my head out on the ledge That's what you get out on the edge
thats as broken down as i can make it, i love the lyrics in this song, i remember hearing them, back when i only had the first two stooges albums, and a milllion in prizes the anthology and penetration
the stooges stuff seemed wild enuff, but when i heard this it was weird, it seemed like nothi i'd heard b4, the lyrics were so, heart-on- sleeve, open and even technically they seemed to my ears not to fit ro something, they seemed to brutal or something, i dunno its weird to describe it
it was so different | |

| this is a great thread idea, im gunna be on here a lot!!
i love gimme danger
gimme danger, little stranger and I'll feel you bleed gimme danger, little stranger and I'll heal your disease
there's nothing in my dreams but some ugly memories kiss me like the ocean breeze
well if you will be my lover i will shiver and sing but if you won't be my master i will do anything
there's nothing left alive but a pair of glassy eyes raise my fears one more time
come on little danger, die a little stranger swear you're gonna feel my hell come on little stranger, die a little later swear you're gonna feel my hell
these are some of the best lyrics ever written imo
i love the line ''kiss me like the ocean breeze" its like dylan, but the way its delivered and everything i dunno, its just amazing, i love lyrics and as a songwriter, i hate to call myself that cos most ppl who think theyre songwriters think theyre great, whereas i think i suck haha, but im not one of those poncey acoustic-in-hand guys
anyway, i'd love to have written this

| and one of the best songs ever written and my favourite, whether iggy or not
I could escape this feeling With my china girl Im just a wreck without My little china girl Id hear hearts beating Loud as thunder See the stars crashing
Id feel tragic Like I was marlon brando When Id look at my china girl I could pretend that nothing Really meant too much When Id look at my china girl Id stumble into town Just like a sacred cow Visions of swasticas in my head And plans for everyone Its in the white of my eyes My little china girl You shouldnt mess with me Ill ruin everything you are Ill give you television Ill give you eyes of blue Ill give you men who want To rule the world And when I get excited My little china girl says Oh jimmy just you Shut your mouth She says shhhh...
i love the lyrics in this song, the way theyre delivered, there are some lines only iggy could get away with
''i feel tragic like i was marlon brando"
i love that line
i love these lines too
Id stumble into town Just like a sacred cow Visions of swasticas in my head And plans for everyone Its in the white of my eyes
its again one of the best songs ever written

| then theres just random ones i like for different reasons
"fire engine, fire engine, get back in the race, i gotta be the first one to my babys place"
"modern guy, modern guy, with a-liqueur and drugs modern guy, modern guy, i eat a naked lunch"
and i love
I'm healthy as a horse Ahh, but everything is spinnin' And if I use a gun I'm sure to go to prison I'm stubborn as a mule and nobody breaks my rules Ahh, but nothin' comes my way. I've got a hard-ass pair of shoulders I've got a love you can't imagine Yeah, and what I got I double I swear I'm keepin' out of trouble.
and five foot one was the same experience as some weird sin for me, it was so angular or something, i dunno i'd never heard someone use words like taht b4
I'm only five foot one I got a pain in my neck I'm looking up in the city What the hell what the heck

| oh dzjee..Some Weird Sin and Gimme Danger lyrics r so magical..especially Some Weird Sin..hardly understand it..but totally recognizable straight into the heart and brain..wow!
There r much more genial poets in lalaland..yeah...but the delivery makes the absolute difference! Like Dylan was genial too..but i dislike Dylan's 'I'm bored/tired and don't wanna be here with you people' delivery.
By taking only a line..without knowing immediately the song....it's possible to sense it different in it's meaning..maybe also in an abstract way.
One of those lines you posted HJW..I don't know from which song it is..but reading it...just immediately recognizing Iggy's genial poetic brain flush! Would be cool if there would be a line in between of someone else ..like Dylan's for example..i'm curious if it would be recognized as not Iggy's ....but Dylan's. Anyway..this thread is getting me wild i guess.. |

The best lyric lines ever!! Curious why Napalm... maybe you can write a bit more? I just feel like that sometimes (or I always fell like that). That I'm misunderstood sometimes but I don't care what people thinks of me. That I'm "the world's forgotten boy, the one who searches and destroys. But that I feel great like "a street walking cheetah with a heart full of napalm".

| yeah..totally true Napalm...really liking something..has a huge element of recognition! Also love the lyrics of Success..it's soooo funny. Surprising double use of the sentences what makes the content of the song ridiculous and the unforgettable lines; Here comes my Chinese rugand Here comes the zoo
with the oh shit 's at the end...hahahaha Read somewhere that Iggy advised buying Chinese or Persian rugs is a very very good way to put your money away > value will always increase good tip nowadays anyway..here's the lyric: "Success"
Here comes success, here comes success Over my hill, over my hill Here comes success, here comes success Here comes my car, here comes my car Here comes my Chinese rug, here comes my Chinese rug Here comes success, here comes success
In the last ditch, in the last ditch I'll think of you, I'll think of you In the last ditch, in the last ditch I will be true, I will be true Sweetheart I'm telling you, sweetheart I'm telling you Here comes the zoo, here comes the zoo
Here comes success, here comes success Oh, hooray success, hooray success Here comes success, hooray success Oh oh success, oh oh success I can't help myself, I can't help myself I just got to got to got to, I just got to got to got to... I can't stand it, got to got to got to
Here comes my face, here comes my face It's plain bizarre, it's plain bizarre Here comes my face, here comes my face Out of the crowd, out of the crowd Sweetheart I'm telling you, sweetheart I'm telling you Here comes the zoo, here comes the zoo
In the last ditch, in the last ditch Here comes success, here comes success Here comes success, here comes success I'm gonna do the twist, I'm gonna do the twist I'm moved, man, I'm wiggged, oh I'm moved and I'm wigged I'm crazy, I'm gonna, I'm gonna go crazy. And if you, maybe you'd like.. Let's blast off!
Alright! Baby, let's blast off, oh, baby let's blast off Blast off on success, blast off on success Oh you slay me, oh you slay me, baby, ooooh, you slay me, baby I'm gonna do the twist, I'm gonna do the twist I'm gonna hop like a frog, I'm gonna hop like a frog I'm gonna go out on the street and do anything I want I'm gonna go out on the street and do anything Oh, shit! Oh, shit! |

!! good shout napalm. 'Search' has great, highly-charged lyrics all the way thru I love the second verse to 'Ann.' such a mix of emotions, feeling 'fine' but also 'weak', deceptively simple lines I think also 'No Fun', deceptively simple lyrics... but which really capture a state of mind also from 'I Need Somebody': 'I'm dying in this story/ I'm only living to sing this song'. Not really clever or 'poetic' or anything but works for me. even the slight, unobtrusive change from 'I need some body...to 'I need some money too...' two things everyone can relate to, concisely put!

The best lyric lines ever!! I have to completly agree with you on that. Its just such a violent "FUCK YOU!" I want to jump about just by reading those words. What about "I'm Sick Of You" Every needle and every day, Seem to always turn out this way. To get again with a brand new love, Then you'll pay, then you'll pay, Aint no way! 'Cause I'm sick of you.It just shows how coldhearted Iggy was at that time that he hates his girlfriends pleas to get him off of heroin. Also "Open Up And Bleed" has some fantastic lyrics: I've been pushed I've been shoved, too long They even tried to buy my song But it ain't gonna be that way no more
In my heart I believe it's true A man has gotta get at you Everybody wants to look the other way
Yeah, tell me lies Place your loving arms around me
And there's things a man must need Don't it make you, make you wanna open up and bleed?
Yeah! Open up and bleed!
I've been lost I've been pushed too long I've been down harder than I've been too strong Yeah baby, gonna find me another way
In my soul I believe it's true I didn't do what you wanted me too Yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, tell me lies Place your loving arms around me
Yeah I bleed Yeah I bleed
I've been hurt And I know its so Even my heart has been pushed I know Everybody wants to look the other way
In my soul I believe it still And in my arm there's a hole so deep Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, tell me lies Place your loving all around me
And there's things a man must need And don't it make you, make you wanna open up and bleed?
Oh baby. | |

never understood what it means..intriguing line. To "have it in the ear" is an expression used in some parts of America to describe getting screwed over, a bad deal. Of course it also sounds incredibly dodgy and could be misinterpretated as something entirely different
