Was having a brief re-read of Paul's book last night and he mentions that Zeke had blonde hair. If that's the case I don't think I've ever seen a picture of him, anyone got one?

Wonder if Paul got confused with Billy Cheatham who did have blonde hair, as seen in those Ungano's photos.

actually I didn't realize Cheatham was blond either! interesting bit of info for the day... Smile

Billy had redish blond hair.

That photo is Zeke, by Lee Black Childers from Ungano's. It's from the same show as the Bill Cheatham one above, also by Leee. His hair does look darker in that pic, but was, apparently, blond like Steve Mackay.

Those Ungano's shot might be the only ones out there, I haven't seen any others. I'm sure Per will know if he's around.

Oh sorry, mc, only jsut seen your note; Steve Mackay, who knew Zeke well, told me he had the same color hair as him; that's perhaps why Steve was rumoured to be dead, rather than Zeke..

Zeke is so damn mysterious, he seems to have played from mid 1970 to early 1971 and there's not one good photo of him anywhere...

Steve Mackay, who knew Zeke well, told me he had the same color hair as him; that's perhaps why Steve was rumoured to be dead, rather than Zeke..

Great shot, absolutely perfect. Must date from fall to winter of 1970.
Who took this shot and when. It's a rarity for sure as this incarnation of the band didn't last long, maybe six months if not less. Thanks for posting.

If you listen to Funhouse in contrast to the 71 lineup there's a significant change. This is where that new direction took shape. See photo above. Much like the progression of The Stooges to Funhouse the band had shifted in musically. In the fall of 70 the Stooges again shifted and created the elemental marrow that became Punk rock.
We all know the legend but this is a pivotal point despite the problems that came into the fray.

What a superb photo - never seen that one before. Must be pretty rare - as mentioned above this autumn 1970 line-up of the Stooges was short-lived.
From the left - Bill Cheatham, Zeke Zettner, Ron, Scott, Iggy.

Its a framed photo that someone had posted on their blog, listed as being from late 1970.
