| I don't care how many times it was posted, it's a great interview. Metro Times really did their homework and got some good stuff out of Iggy and James. | |

We are an extremely lucky forum to have a few "real deals" as members. Your blog is always a good read, especially your take on other drummers. I took care of my mother basically night and day for four years before her passing two years ago, so I can absolutely relate with what you've been through. Take care.

Sure. I have your site bookmarked. I found it when i was on my "find and purchase everything ever did by the MC5" phase. I knew of the MC5 and had of course heard the song "Kick out The Jams," but really had never delved that deeply into your music or story. I was really beginning my journey into punk and the whole 70's NYC music scene. I noticed that in every interview I was reading or viewing by all of those folks that two of the main influences that they all referenced were the MC5 and the Stooges. Well, if you can imagine growing up in Georgia, neither band was ever plated very often on the local radio stations. Even back in the mid to late 70's when I first started getting into music you never heard the MC5 or the Stooges on any Atlanta radio station very often. So, after all the props that people from the punk scene were giving you guys I began to research both the bands stories and found that I was missing out on one of the most important areas of music. Years later I now own every last scrap of material ever produced by the MC5 and the Stooges and find said material dominating my listening time. You guys were cutting edge and if the bean counters that run the music industry had had the foresight to extract there money grubbing heads out of there "would know real rock n roll if it hit you in the face" asses and had supported you guys music would be the better for it today. And condolences to you on your dad. My dad died in a horrific car accident when I was 11 so I really never even got to know him that well.

I took care of my mother basically night and day for four years before her passing two years ago, so I can absolutely relate with what you've been through. Take care. True that! I am recent to this forum so I am not sure who is who when it come to the "real deals" that graciously post here. The internet is truly a wondrous thing. It allows us to actually converse with some of our hero's in a way that without it we would never have the opportunity to do so otherwise. I just wish I knew who was who so that I would know that I was actually conversing with a legend and not just one of us regular people. Hell. ever folks like Natalie and some of the others are in my opinion kinda ledgends. She was there when history was being made.

Can you link that article here Dennis? I really regret that I never got to experience the MC5 OR Sonic's Rendezvous Band. It is truly unbelievable that there are only two SRB studio recordings, correct? What a sad statement on America's appreciations of real music it is that the only documents we have of SRB are low quality live recordings. Or course, I have every one that is available. I even did my due diligence and managed to find a copy of "Sweet Nothing."

I have a lot of MC5 and SRB photos that I saved off the interweb, but I'm not sure if I have that one in digital format. I could pull out High Times and scan it if you want?

| Hey Dennis, In my copy of High Times CD (which I just had to put on now that you got me thinking about you guys) doesn't have a photo of Fred in the costume. Is there another one you want. I can scan the whole booklet if you need? | |
