Iggy CD - Lust for Life - Review and Praise/Adulation/GooGoo

Wow!

I have heard a lot of music in my life with several musos in my family. Two of my brothers are musos, my ex husband was a muso and a record shop owner, my son is a muso (managing Mega in Sclotland at the mo).... so, go figure.... I have heard a LOT of music in my life.

I have never felt so 'in love with a voice' ever before. Could hear a strong Stones influence and Bowie was also not not present. But Iggy's voice and his lyrics are more than awesome. And this is an 'oldy' CD from 77. I now eagerly await the more recent Anthology.


Yeah Iggy, Jesus Loves u, but I love you more, because I know the bravado on stage is a sales hype..... a part of you nonetheless, but the real you in the book tells of another perfectly normal and sociable Jim Osterman.

I ordered that anthology too, I expect it any day now. Still a Stooge fan first and foremost, but I thought I'd give Iggy's solo stuff a shot too.

'Instinct' is probably his strongest "modern" album. If you're a big fan of 'instinct' check out Steve Jone's 'Fire & Gasoline'. It was recorded around the same time, released just after he finished working with Iggy, so sounds very similar.

Mostly I find Iggy's solo work to be very patchy, though 'Instinct' and 'The Idiot' are real gems.

I'm listening to it again because of this comment, haha.

Instinct, is not one of my favorite's but i like all his albums

I like those psuedo funk songs like corruption, catchy stuff that sounds dangerous.
