Fantastic live photos. Just saw them up on Facebook and was going to post them here too but Hector beat me to it.

studioguy, they were posted by Jim Edwards, the lead singer of The Rockets about 9 hours ago today! I'll put a file-sharing link for a downloadable folder of all the photos soon in a separate topic. And all credits to Jim Edwards, of course!

*EDIT: This was my first time attempting all this file uploading stuff, so..
It turns out you have to pay in order to hotlink the folder and files as compressed (there's always a catch!), I didn't know this, so now I won't even bother since it will take the same amount of time to just download the pics on your own by hitting "Save As" where Hector uploaded them.. but if anyone still wants the link to my public shared folder of all the pictures (NOTHING NEW, SO DON'T EVEN BOTHER!! ) here it is:

It'd be really cool if someone who does have MediaFire pro to upload a ZIP folder of the pics the way like I was trying to so it can make all of this easier for the downloads, but it's no big deal ~ they're just pictures.. viewing them is just fine and they don't really need to be downloaded as much as live music.

Kudos to whomever the friend of The Rockets' Jim Edwards was who took these, because not only are they historic, they're photographed well and preserved well. This is correct color balance, people, hard to find from photos from this era...

Those are fantastic photos, from period which we have hardly any photos at all of the band. What a thrill to see those shots!! Thanks for posting. The only thing lacking now is an audio recording...

If I´m not wrong out here, there´re just 2 shows with this line-up?

The gigs we have for December 1970 are:

5 Dec High School, Farmington, MI [James Williamson’s first gig.]
12 Dec Palladium, Birmingham, MI
? Dec Monroe Community College, Rochester, NY (reviewed in a GQ piece)

Another '70 gig which might be from late in the year:
? Gilligan’s, Buffalo, NY

That's all we have, if I've not missed any additions. It makes the photos w. James W and Zeke Z in the band all the more unique.

That seems to be a different show, but in a similar-styled venue. But aren't James, Iggy and Ron dressed quite differently? The stage also differs. Do we have any clues as to where that show (b/w pic) took place?

The Stooges never got to play that night at Monroe. Iggy did a song with Catfish but scheduling issues and curfews prevented the Stooges from playing.

That was the first time I met James in person. Previously, I had received a letter from him and we spoke once on the telephone.

That GQ mag you mentioned Per is just from this James and Zeke days. Describing as Nathalie said Iggy´s performance with Fish. Published in April 1971.

Hector that last B/W one is from W.F. Herman Secondary School (Windsor, Ontario). It came from the school yearbook. I don't think it's clear whether it's a November or December 1970 show.

I posted on the WF Herman Alumni facebook page a while back to see if anyone had any memories of this, and got only one reply from a lady who said she vaguely remembers this but was too fried on acid to give any specifics!
