| Not much activity on this thread in recent months... but I just bought one of the Jim Dunlop reissue Fuzz Face pedals - a reissue of the silicon fuzz that Ron used - and I'm very impressed; very true to Ron's guitar tone on the first Stooges album. Lovely bit of kit and, while expensive, not ridiculously so. Much better than some of the "boutique" fuzz pedals I've had over the years and sounds great through a Marshall, Vox and Hiwatt. Highly recommended. | |

| I remember reading on the old message board, you could probably look up the exact quote, Dara was with Ron at the time and she said that Ron went thru TWO fuzz faces then a wah , then the marshall stack.. | |

Some of the Roger Mayer fuzzes are really good as well. I've had Classic Fuzz for years and it even sounds good with POD, which usually hates fuzzes (I use it at home and sometimes at studio too, POD I mean), tho' old Ibanez fuzz sounds better with Twin Reverb I think. Axis fuzz is really great aswell. | |
