Oh, and I like the film of Iggy reading the ATP programme on a sunny beach on the website login page.

It's available on iTunes in Germany, too. "Only The Lonely" is NOT the Roy Orbison song, it's by Frank Sinatra (same title, different song).

In the pressconforence Iggy also said something about the Stooges and touring with the new album. He said that he is bound until 2014 to the Stooges and that the guys want to show the world once more how fantastic they can rock. It might be a hint that the he will quit the Stooges after 2013.

Mine just arrived, can't wait to listen to it

Looks like a nice package, the explanation of song choice is a nice touch

hope this is part of a francophile trilogy

edit;

also, its slightly taller than a typical jewel case, by a centimeter or two

To be honest I think I'll skip this one. The thought of another Michelle cover put me off, I hate that song. But for some reason I think the Edit Piaf cover could could be descent. What is the verdict from you who got your copy?

Mine arrived yesterday too. I've only had a chance to listen to it a couple of times, despite it being less than 30 minutes long. It's a bit too laid back for me but I think his voice is more suited to this stuff nowadays than, say The Weirdness. With a decent voice coach I think he could have really pulled it off.

I doubt I'll listen to it that much, after all I haven't listened to Preliminaires since it came out.

Hi,

I agree wih you there, i won't be rushing to listen to again, i also only listened to Preliminaires a couple of times last time i had to take it off half way through. Think cover comes from a film.

Nigel.

I really hope he continues in the vein of recording an album of new songs with James Williamson.

Agreed hjw! Watt talks on his radio show about CDRs of musical ideas going to and fro between him and JW, maybe via Iggy too? - kind of long-range composition collaboration? I can't wait to hear what JW has to say after all these years.

Thanks for the info HL,

Ironically it costs more to get it shipped within the UK; i think i only paid £8 for it, also i think most people who wanted it have probably found a way to listen to it

its on spotify for who want to check it out

I just heard his recording of 'Only The Lonely' on the radio... Shocked

I wouldn't think there's any reason to attempt that number unless you're ready to be held up to be judged against Sinatra. Really have to credit Iggy's chutzpah.

Yes, it's a weird album. But it's a pleasure to hear a mature Iggy, to hear him playing something different. Just like it was on Avenue B and Preliminaires.
