| Didn't know about his hip problem Dirt is on my favourite songs, but I reckon they omitted it on the basis of it being one of their "slower" (for want of a better word) songs, and probably time constraints or something. Heard an interview last night in which Iggy responded to a question about his thoughts on festivals by saying "well, they're of interest" | |

| I'm pretty confident they'll play Dirt. Ron Asheton has said it's his favourite Stooges song and since he's now playing two James era songs (well one...sort of) I'm sure Iggy won't deny him from playing it. It's unlikely they'll play Not Right or Little Doll though. | |

| Yeah, as much as I dig the Pistols, they're no match for the Stooges. | |

| Saw the ITV coverage - just the one song, "No Fun" - which frankly ended up being a little bit disappointingl with Iggy down in the crowd and the band cranking it out onstage. As much as Iggy loves the interaction with the audience there is a danger, at huge festivals, of being too far away fom the band. I always feel that the great cohesion in the Stooges that is so apparent when Iggy IS onstage is diminished when he's not.
Still, any Stooges on TV is always well worth watching, just a pity it wasn't another song, or preferably more songs.
Did anyone go to the IOW? If so, what was the whole gig like?
Cheers,
Richard | |

| Was at the isle of wight, front row, it was excellent. Before they started, they bought in extra security so as to control iggy, and when he was down in the pit (between stage and fan barrier) there was a guy following him the whole time, so he couldn't crowd surf.
But despite that, it was awesome. To quote Iggy on the day "we are the underrated, overtrodden Stooges". The crowd loved it, a lot of people were really woken up to them by his set. T.V. Eye and 1969 were highlights, but no bad songs. And he kicked over mike's amplifiers at the end.

| Yep - no Dirt because of time constraints: - Quote :
- we didn't do "dirt" at the pile of shite festival (did I say that right?) cuz we had a short set

| Yeah I know it's stupid. I'm sure the Sex Pistols would have been happy for The Stooges to extend their setlist by about 6 minutes to play "Dirt" as John Lydon has gone on record saying "Fun House" is one of his favourite records.
Anyway, how come they allowed a stage invasion as Glastonboury but it wasn't allowed at the "Pile Of Shite Festival"?

| Was it allowed at Glastonbury though? I remember Iggy demanding the security guard to "LET 'EM UP!". I recorded most of that gig, must have another watch. Think that was one of the first moments of me realising how fecking amazing the Stooges are. | |

| I don't think it was allowed at glastonbury, it just took security by suprise. At Isle Of Wight, they were obviously on the lookout for that kinda thing (extra security, as I said) so I guess none took place. | |

Did anybody else see that Iggy documentary a while ago (I think it was on the South Bank Show)? You saw hime leaping about live with The Stooges and then at the end of the gig you saw him hobbling back stage, he almost needed to be carried. Proof (if it was ever needed) that Iggy gives a 100% at all his shows.
