| What I've heard of Ron's work outside of the Stooges - The New Order, New Race, Destroy all Monsters - doesn't sound anything too special, to be honest - fairly bland, generic rock, by his standards, I think! Of course I haven't heard much, but I reckon he just functions better with his brother behind him and Iggy cavorting around beside him! | |

| Nothing, everybody's got different tastes. I love post-punk stuff so I loved Destroy All Monsters but it varies. Sonic's Rendevous Band, Iggy's solo work and Ron's varius projects have a lot of good bits but a lot of bad bits and none of them are as great as The Stooges. | |

| different bands, different dynamics I s'pose but I just feel like I should be always able to respond INSTINCTIVELY to the sound of Ron's guitar or something, haha | |

| Yeah but Ron's guitar sound changes just like Iggy's vocals. Sadly not everyone wants to jump around like a spastic to his riffs but I guess that makes it more special to people who do. | |

| Never let it be said that I don't jump around to Ron Asheton's riffs It's just that I always make the mistake of automatically comparing his non-Stooges work to his Stooges work, I should stop doing that and try to listen to it on its own terms, because the Stooges' music CAN'T be matched. Ron will always be the best guitarist of all time anyway I can't see that changing. You can't compare him to mere mortals. Like on those other bands, The New Order etc, his playing still kicks the shit out of all the rest. | |

| Yeah, The Stooges worked because the Asheton brothers and Iggy gelled perfectly (and still do). It just so happened they found equally brilliant musicians like Dave Alexander, James Williamson, Jimmy Recca, Zeke Zenther, Steve Mackay and Scott Thurston who could also go into the mix and give them that extra edge. Of course boredom and just being plain pissed off played a major role in it to. | |

| Between the three songs I have listened to (the three that are on the myspace), Rock'N'Roll Soldiers is my favourite. Don't know why... maybe just something you can shout. | |
