| great article thanks!
didnt know about Ron and the phobia of being late, its just even more heartening that the stooges reformation happened, he waited his whole life and got the recognition he deserved, and more importantly the recognition he wanted, not from the HOF or any of that shit, but from the people he connected with, the fans, us and people like jack white and others, so at least that happened for him
thanks for translating angusyd!

| RON ASHETON TRIBUTE BY DON BOLLES, HOWIE PYRO, PAT FEAR AT DING A LING CLUB 1/7/09 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXvPSubzJ4chttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Go2C_DnT4SQhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNEcvz81D-ginfo: 'Don Bolles with Howie Pyro and Pat Fear did a jam session for Ron Asheton at Ding a Ling, at the vocals a cool dude looking pretty much like Iggy... UNFORTUNATELY IS TOTAL DARKNESS, EVEN SOUND IT IS PRETTY COOL' Some band from Brazil or Portugal ( at least the language is Portuguese ) covering '1969' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8PXMULKuJYQ'SAD & SPOOKY: RON ASHETON'S DEATH COINCIDES WITH RELEASE OF NEW STOOGES COVER. The 8-minute electrodancepop take on the seminal Iggy & the Stooges classic, I Wanna Be Your Dog, was released by independent NYC-based electronica duo, The Government, just days before Asheton was discovered dead in his Ann Arbor home. Police said that it appeared Asheton had been dead for several days, leaving open the real possibility that even as Asheton lay dying on his couch in Michigan, his accomplishments and influence were being celebrated and his music was reaching new audiences in New York. Coincidence or cosmic connection? The Government was understandably shaken by "this strange and unhappy coincidence." The new track was re-titled to include a dedication to Ron. Moreover, it will be available only as a free-of-charge single, that The Government will distribute themselves on their website at www.govtmusic.com.'https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xH04Z5Ggv8IHonestly, I think that the cover is..disgusting And the last..interview at Greek radiostation.. 'Savage Republic / interview in memory of Ron Asheton (Thom Furman speaks about Ron Asheton at Rock Zone' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHLV8Q0FfkA from 1:48-4:24 | |

| "Ron Asheton's brother Scott and sister Kathy have paid tribute to the guitarist and thanked fans for their messages of support after his death was announced earlier this month. The star was found dead in his home of a suspected heart attack on January 6. Scott Asheton, who drums in The Stooges, and his sister Kathy released the following statement: "We would like to thank everyone for the tremendous outpouring of sympathy and support that we have received. The knowledge that Ron's kindness and music touched so many people around the world has been a great comfort to us at this very difficult time. "We loved our big brother very much and we will miss him deeply. Our lives will never be the same. His spirit will continue through a foundation we plan to set up in his name. Thank you all so much for your prayers and thoughts." " http://www.nme.com/news/iggy-and-the-stooges/42270 | |

The cover might not be that great, but it does show that the Stooges influence extends beyond the rock genre.

| same here, sent mine on 9th, thank god, i wanted them to read what i had to say, it helped me to write it
still cant believe it, i dunno, i dont think my brain can accept that my favourite band (stooges with ron) is gone, it feels like theyre just 'off tour', dunno how i'll react a few months from now when i realise i wont see them again or hear new stuff
- speaking of new stuff in one of the articles i read about Ron, they spoke about the 42 tracks they wrote for weirdness and cut down to the eventual 12/16 songs they chose, but what happened to the rest? did they just write and rehearse or did they record, there must have been more songs recorded, no?
