| Wow, he mentions that he was only planning to hit the studio in 2010 or 2011, and have the band focus less on touring and more on creative stuff in the interim. | |

| For all those with technical problems accessing the interview here's a quick rundown of its content.
It was taped with Iggy on the phone on Friday, Jan. 9 and broadcast on Monday, Jan. 12. It's almost like an Iggy monologue on Ron, not so much an interview as such. Iggy talks about the early days in Ann Arbor, Ron's love of Michigan, Ron's dogs and his "army of cats". They also talk about how Ron not only revolutionized guitar playing but that he was also the first one who knew how to "play" an amp. So true. Iggy says he has a 90 mins tape of the Asheton brothers jamming on new material (recorded in the winter of 2007/2008 in an Ann Arbor demo studio that the Ashetons used) that he absolutely loves and that includes four or five new Ron riffs that "rock like a mother". Furthermore the Ashetons wanted to go back into the studio this January to record more of Ron's new compositions. Iggy also says that Ron really had come into his own as a writer after "The Weirdness".

Really hope these tapes see the light of day. kinda sad to hear how Ron was getting into it.

| That was hard to listen to. When Iggy started to break down at the beginning of the interview I did too. Damn, the future was getting even brighter for the band. This is tragic beyond words. | |

| A very fine interview with Iggy. Really showed off Iggy as the person he is. Sad too about the music they had planned and in the making. | |

| its a great interview, he meant so much to him
i wish they couldve gone on and really put out some funhouse standard masterpiece (i love weirdness as much as thte first two but its no stooges/funhouse - i.e. no masterpiece)
for personal reasons it wouldve been great, but even just to show everyone who doubted them or didnt like the weirdness or watever (the UK newspaper the independant gave it one star!) it wouldve been cool, ah well, at least we can hope some day these see the light of day

| It would be cool to hear just the brothers Asheton jamming, hope they wouldn't do anything silly like add vocals. They could donate profits from this one to Ron's charity. | |

| Just shows how nice a guy Iggy is. I think the jamming sessions should be released as a two disc set: the original instrumental and as another disc with the jams edited with vocals over the top, Iggy was always the song arranger. Its so sad. | |

Its so sad. Cool thing would be a cd with the jams, and one with the jams put into songs with what's left of the stooges with some help of a renowned guitarist, for example Jack White. Some player who knows how to use noise to his advantage. And of course a clear "Dedicated to Ron A" on the disc itself.

| i'd like it to be released, but theres no idea of what the qualitys like and if its no good there'd'b no point releasing it, profitwise i mean it might be hardly anything, still hope they release it that would be great, love to hear it, even just for the ashetons jamming that sounds good - Quote :
- Ron's charity
what charity is this, did he set it up or is it one he was a part of?

| Thanks for this. Pretty sad, but still thanks.
I can totally picture Ron surrounded by an army of cats.. looking after strays and sharing his food with them. That's a nice image to have.
