I was also surprised..however there are those shots from late 1974 with Patti Smith..and he also looked kinda weird.. Smile

I had to look this one up... now I know a Scottish verb, and I think it might apply in my case. I found this image in two spots that indicated persons in the photo, both jived, but I'll be damned if I can get myself back to those url's.... I'll figure it out Shocked

Dude! That's another late '70 pic from the murky 'crazy tie' period. Know where it's from?

Who's the Omar Sharif lookin' guy in the 2'nd pic.?

I'm guessing all these pics w/ Iggy and the bandanged chin take place in the middle of the Max's run of shows in summer '73 when Iggy either slipped accidentally onto a table full of glasses or deliberately gouged himself to win over Bebe Buell. The bandage on the head was a result of walking into a door at a NY Dolls gig the next day. Weird to see the stuff that I've only read about.

And, yeah, Sable Starr does seems a bit skanky, but healthy, well-adjusted women are'nt known for their love of drool, vomit, cross-dressing or cocaine psychosis. She ended up with Johnny Thunders and Iggy seemed to prefer her older sister Coral - the redhead in the color pics a few pages back.

I think they're from later than the Max's Incident 'cos the pictures I've seen of him sewn up after Max's don't show any chin or forehead damage. They're possibly from when he got beat up by some surfers on his way to a Bowie gig with Danny Sugarman. Sugarman legged it, leaving Iggy to take all the damage.

I dunno. There's a before & after pic of Ig bleeding at Max's & then hanging at the club a day or so later showing-off his stitches. The chin bandage is clearly visible.
