It's Alright

I was wondering if anyone had any insight on one of iggys solo songs. He usually performed it as an encore or set closer in 1980. Its called "It's Alright" and he announces it at a few different shows as "written by Bo Diddley" but ive searched and havent come up with anything written by bo diddley by that name. Does anyone know if this is iggys tribute song to Bo or what?

In "Live in a Cover" it´s copyrighted to Nanker Pherge.

Nanker Phelge was a psdeneom used by the Rolling Stones for a while. I'm guessing the song isn't "It's Alright" but instead "I'm All Right" (sometimes spelt "I'm Alright") which was a Bo Diddley song the Stones covered. Hope that helps

Absolutely correct, GFE, that's the one.

One can also suspect that Iggy got influence from that song the way the Stones did it in the 60's. Jagger's singing "I feel alright" a couple of times and maybe that stuck in his head and came out in "1970"... Just a thought...

It's an obscure Bo Diddley song, that the Stones made famous.
It's often credited as Ellas McDaniel song, but that's Bo's real name.

Either from the 26th Sept 1980 gig, or that one on 1st October 1980 at Chicago Waves, it was performed at both.
