| So I heard Iggy smoked weed very rarely because of his asthma? And Ron was the only Stooge not to do heroin? | |

| Iggy smoked pot pretty regularly. Ron and Dave were the only one not to do heroin. And they all did cocaine (except Dave) at some point, I'm sure I read an interview with Ron telling a story of them snorting it with a famous jazz-musician after an Uganos show. | |

That famous jazz-musician was Miles Davis (as they say) That makes me feel really stupid I kept thinking it was John Coltrane but I knew that wasn't right.

| Yeah, I think he was joking too, and that's why I said that I don't wanna be rude, but I think that in many cases...hah hah some people actually think that weed can help you with something...hah hah...normally it just fucks you up a bit. Medical marijuana dont really mean that you can use it with every probleam you have and some people have weird ideas about asthma, like "oh, well have you tried this or that... ?"
...and I thought that ...Iggy or someone else might be one of those people. So I just wanted to kill that myth once and for all. It's no good. heh....

| sorry to insist, but I am not joking, if you do a little research you will see ( not working for everybody), but we are not there to talk about it, because it is an endless debate(for or against)^^ | |

| I've read once that Pablo Picasso had asthma and he smoked cigars as a way to cure. Sounds quite unbelieveable to me, but..I'm not an expert, so | |

| The Stooges & heroin: Ron wasn't the only non-junkie Stooge technically, Dave Alexander, Jimmy Recca, Scott McKay and Scott Thurston, not to mention Mike Watt never had dope habits. It just depends on if you count some of the short time and part time musicians as Stooges or not. For the record, the admited junkies were Iggy, Scott Asheton, James Williamson, Bill Cheetam, Zeke Zetner, and road manager John "the Fellow" Adams. It was Adams who brought smack into the group, he was a junkie before hooking up with the band, he had been detoxed by the first Stooges manager Jimmy Silver through a macrobiotic diet. When he got back into dope he turned on aforementioned members. They all been very forthcoming about all this, it's all very well documented. | |

| When I knew Scott Thurston which was when he played keyboards with the Stooges he smoked pot. He was Not into heavy drugs at all at that point.
I have not read any of the many books published in the last 10 years so I am only speaking from my experience.

| Judging by the general loaginess of the late '73 / early '74 shows, I'd second heroin. But without the smack, we would'nt have 'Open Up & Bleed', 'Pinpoint Eyes' etc.
I'm just glad that vile shit like crack and crystal meth wasn't around back then. I doubt there would've been enough band members left for a reunion.

| I don't think he was an alchoholic, high blood pressure is caused by a number of factors that don't involve alcohol, mainly ubhealthy eating and lack of exrcise. It has a lot to do with luck too. | |
