I think the Phil Collins article is better than the Stooges'. Phil Collins knows how to rock a stage.

I bought this magazine today. It has lots of Stooges pics and a few I've never seen before.

It has this picture that I've so desperatley wanted in larger size for ages, taking up the WHOLE page. Most of the pictures I haven't even seen before, old AND new. I haven't read it yet, but I know it will be a great read. It goes for nine pages, too. Alien

The CD is NOT songs by The Stooges but songs hand picked by Iggy as being personal faves of his!!!

The CD consists of songs by The Trashmen, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Eddie Cochran, Link Wray, etc, etc, etc!!!

Five or six years ago, Mojo ran what was supposed to be an absolutely phenomenal article on the Stooges. I believe it was also the cover story and it was quite extensive. Does anyone here have that, by any chance?

Purrcafe I, er wrote that MOJO piece, which was around 1996... all the info and loads loads more is in Open Up and Bleed, and if you don't want to shell out for a book, check this out for free...
www.trynka.com

and here's a link to the Observer's extract of the book, an edited version of the chapter on the Stooges' last stand. This extract misses out nearly all the music (but also a lot more gore and debauchery...)

Paul,

Great, thanks very much. I've been told that your article was perhaps the best ever piece of writing on the band. I will definitely purchase the book, particularly since I was so disappointed in the Ambrose hack job. Here's hoping yours is the definitive examination!

Buy the book right away, I got it, and I'm currently re-reading it in the toilets (I mean, when I go to the men's room, sorry Paul) bit by bit, it's a funny read, and full of details on every step of the Stooges twisted life.

"Do you wanna see my dick ? Take all the pictures you want of it, you will make great money selling them in england" Iggy, in another life Laughing
