today i heard the sad news that jan van de oever, one of the biggest iggy & stooges collectors has passed away due to heartproblems.
jan was the guy who found the kiel and wampler lake shows in the 80's and gave them to revenge who put them out on the starfighterlabel.
jan was always trying to find ureleased recordings and was known with every serious stooges collector from the 80's on.
he was a big fan of ron and once gave him a german worldwar2 army jacket and got from ron some destroy all monsters stuff back.
the last years of jan's live were not the best, his parents died, his health became very bad and also his girlfriend was longtime ill .
I heard the bad news about jan from the nurse who now takes care for his girlfriend, she said jan did everything and more to help her!
so jan respect and hope you meet ron overthere.

Very sad news indeed.
Jan was a fantastic collector "rep". Often he found rare Stooges/ Iggy recordings and at times when it was hard for him to get a trade done, he would approach me.
Together we found quite a few recordings.
Sadly I handed over the bulk of my collection to Bomp in the early 90s when they started the Iguana chronicals.
I still remember one tape Jan once found; it was a Stooges show with unknown venue details, mid-late 1973. The set list was similar to Max Kansas and St. Louis, clocking in just under 50 minutes. What was special was the fact that the set list was played BACK to FRONT. We always questioned the integrity of the tape. From what I remember, the tape did not appear to be cut back to front. If fake, it was a well done job!

But at least he's up there with Ron and Dave and all the others.
