I happened to log on here just in time to hear this interview. It's pretty amazing; but not all in a good way.
The DJs have no idea what they are doing; one guy actually wonders aloud if the song Lust For Life is on the album "Blah Blah Blah". They also have a hard time forming questions because they really don't know much. Their ineptitude in asking questions leads to Iggy basically riffing and you end up with an amazing story about how Lust For Life was written - it involves ukuleles and Starsky and Hutch, for the record.
Iggy's views on Paul Trynka's book are interesting. He seems to appreciate the ends (writing/style/work) but questions some of the means. Overall he is pretty positive about it. He likens it to a film.
Anyway, I'm back to listening and not typing. You should find this on the internets.
Oh yeah, the DJs also (I'm pretty sure) give Williamson credit for an Asheton guitar part while acknowledging a previous interview with Williamson. I gotta go find this interview. It has probably been linked here. If so, I missed it.
He mentions the Raw Power box and adds some new (to me) possible wrinkles.
He even mentions James Brown and Bobby Byrd...!
You want to know when he chipped his tooth and who else was on the bill that night...?
This seems to be a very long interview. I'm starting to imagine Iggy saying "...Look, I've got to go..."
Well, actually, the DJs try to excuse themselves and Iggy goes into a story about Nirvana. Then he tries to excuse himself and gets hooked into a voice over thing. He's bailed...
A classic.
Y'all gotta check this out........
Oh, Christ, they are not sure if Scotty is still drumming...
Hopefully you can listen to this after the fact.
