Okay, here's the question: We've got Ron, we've got Iggy, we've got Jimmy Recca, but who the hell are the other three people in these photo's?!?

maybe Danny Sugerman in the first photo?

Heavy Liquid, Shakes has it nailed, they were sold on ebay a few years back. I thought it was 04/05, but I could be wrong.

Re Jimmy Recca. Nadja, I wouldn't bet my life on it, but I'm pretty sure that's who it is.

All the extra information I can provide ...

There are thirteen shots in total, they're all taken over the same evening -they're all wearing the same clothes, except Iggy who changes his shirt twice, once for an early version of a "Tits" t-shirt to go out in-, they're in L.A. -one shot has Ron and Iggy standing outside a hotdog stand at 378 Santa Monica Blvd-, at some point they visit a bar called The Boathouse, if anyone here remembers it? Presumably they were taken by whoever took the cover shot to "Live 1971", it's definitely the same evening, and there's even a couple more shots taken in the "Live 1971" bathroom.

... and that's it.

It's definitely Recca. These must have been taken on the night the bathroom shots were done. One of the shots (not the one that ended up on the Starfighter LP cover) is in the Getty Archives, it is credited to GAB Archives/Redferns - Glenn A. Baker, and their metadata is incorrect, as they label Jimmy R. as Scott A. Those EBAY shots could have been Baker, or someone else who was there that night with another camera. Very cool slice of Stooges history though!!!

Those photos look more like they're from 74 or 75 which is closer to the time Iggy was hanging with Danny Sugarman I think.

Scott, many thanks for the confirmation re Recca. I thought it was, but it's good to get a second opinion.

MC, I had them figured as possibly post-Stooges too, hopefully we'll get the definitive answer from someone who knows for sure.

One small bit of extra information. Their previous owner had spilt something on them, let them stick together, and then pulled/torn them apart. Hence the tears you can see in the images. Luckily, they were so unconcerned about it that a lot of the missing parts were still stuck to the backs of the other photo's. Having peeled them off and saved them, I discovered that I had extra bits that didn't fit the pictures I have. Yes, there's more of them out there somewhere! Assuming they didn't just get thrown out that is.

Good to know that for sure. I've been traumatized in the past by a certain photo that turned up on this forum with Recca, because I just couldn't recognize him.

The Boathouse is (was?) on the Santa Monica Pier. That would make sense because the hot dog stand you mention would be a couple of blocks away.
The pix look like they were taken in a motel or something. Maybe the NPI at UCLA where Iggy was shuttered around the time of Kill City? That might explain the old guy in the robe. Who knows?

I could take a wild ass guess and say that the guy on the bed is John Riley (the New Order's manager) but it would be just a guess. I don't really remember what he looked like but it seems possible. Nitebob or Dennis Thompson could probably shed some light. Thompson for sure. Machinegun, are you out there?

No, it's not

It is definitely Jimmy Recca, definitely not Lee Childers. I believe that is Danny Sugarman. I only met Danny once at the Max's gigs but that sure looks like him.

I can usually tell what timeframe a photo was taken by the length and style of Iggy's hair. I never saw him with bangs cut this way. I did not see Iggy from Feb 74 thru the first tour he did in 77. So these pics had to be 75 or 76.

I can not figure out who the other people are. I never saw them.

By mid to late 1976 The New Order was pretty much kaput and Ron was back in Ann Arbor. In that case it must be 1975. Isn't that when Iggy was in the NPI at UCLA? Could that be a hospital room?

Thanks to Natalie, and especially Larry, for some sterling deductions! Outlines are appearing through the mist. It's certain on Recca, certain on Santa Monica, a "probably" on '75, three "could well be"'s for Danny Sugerman, and a "maybe" for John Riley.

Larry, re "the old guy in the robe". I think, and only think, that that might be quite an expensive overcoat, especially as he seems to have the matching two button jacket on underneath. Then again, I don't know what people were dumping in Santa Monica thrift stores circa the mid-seventies.

Finally, for any computer buffs reading this, who might have nothing better to do for a few days. In the shot with the old guy in the robe/overcoat the door has graffiti scrawled all over it. Anyone think they can bring it out? It's clearer in the original photo, but not much. For anyone considering trying, I should mention that the pictures we're developed the wrong way round, like a mirror image, so you'd have to flip the image back the right way to read it. Answers on a postcard!

Wild guess, but the guy in the glasses could maybe pass for Danny Goldberg who knew Iggy at the time.

I've seen pics of Iggy w/ Alice Cooper and Ray Manzarek where Ig has this haircut. The gig where Iggy sang w/ Manzarek was spring 1974, so I'd put these pics in roughly that time frame.

I'm wondering, that old guy in the coat, could that be one of the three Stooges that Ron visited alot in the New Order days. I specifically remember reading somewhere that Ron became quite good friends with one of the three stooges.

That isn't Larry Fine, the Stooge that Ron fed whiskey & cigars in his final days.
Probably just some dude from the seedy hotel room next door.
