Winter of my discontent Empty

Hello, I'm new here

I've tried the search function and couldn't find any info on this song. Does anyone know more about it?
It seems like a really rare Iggy and Stooges song, since what I've find out they only played it like 2 or 3 times.
And I've read somewhere it is a 'Soldier' outtake, so did they record a studio version of it?

This is a solo Iggy Pop song, you can find it on an Iggy compilation called "Nuggets".

No I don't think it was ever recorded in the studio, as Iggy and his band wrote it not long after "Soldier" was done and dusted just before they hit the road. He started all the gigs on the tour with it, "Hassles" and "Sacred Cow"

I was at a January 1980 show at Emerald City where he opened with those three. Thanks for the vid link.

Iggy sounds totally fried at that show. His voice is shot, he's barely coherant but somehow still able to quote shakespeare...

I've always wished that Iggy could've hustled Carlos Alomar & Rob DuPrey into the studio to properly record this tune. It could've been up there with 'Dum Dum Boys'.

You will also note that Iggy cribs some of his old lyrics from 'Beyond the Law'.
