I bought this disc from Amazon a few weeks back. What a great performance! I thought Dirt was cut a bit short, but a great show nonetheless.

It seems to be a high quality boot (in terms of manufacture), and it's clearly an audience recording. But if you crank it up like you're supposed to it feels like you're right there. I've got no beef.

Thoughts?

I said it before: one of the best albums ever. It really catches the energy that blew me away the first time I saw The Stooges live in 2005.

Very energetic indeed.
I almost didn't buy this, as a few reviews on Amazon bitched about the sound. I don't hear a damn thing wrong with it. It may be an aud. tape, but it's a great one.

This show is guaranteed to knock your dick in the dirt.

It's excellent...sound quality and performance. It's also an official live release.

I figured it was at least "semi-legit" as it was being sold by Amazon.

I cranked the mother up again last night. It's a winner.

Telluric Chaos is basically a bootleg that has somehow been given semi-official status. BUT it does sound pretty damn good, and the Stooges put on a terrific show.
But don't you think that a proper, official, soundboard recording of the Stooges in concert would be most welcome? As long as it's decently mixed and that Ron's guitar is mixed nice and loud.
Cheers,
Richard

I couldn't agree more. A proper soundboard recording would be most welcome. I'd be one of the first in line to get a copy, that's for sure.

The sound on Telluric Chaos, Is Pretty Good. Not the best i've heard, I think they should release an FM recording offically. The Recent FIB Bennicasim FM show was great. they should release the Audience tape from Cochella 03, i love the sound on that one. and it was the first reunion show. They also need to release a 2007 DVD soon. Maybe The Pinkpop 07, Glastonbury 07, ect.

Overall - Telluric Chaos, is a fair recording, but personally, theres a few others they should have released.seattle 05, Turin 04, Athens 04, Skjobe 2006, Naples 2006, are all Excellent sounding Bootlegs.

1 Very nice thing about Telluric Chaos, is that it includes, the very FIRST performance of 'My Idea Of Fun'. It's a nice version, alittle sloppy, obviously as it was the first time played, and it was not a complete song yet(very rough on their changes *ect*) BUT this is the only version ever that steve mckay played Sax on Smile PRETTY DAMN GOOD TOO Smile

-- Thoughts on this are very welcome.

So there's even better sounding stuff out there, eh? I'd better have a look.

And I'd like to see them release a shitload of stuff from this year's tour. I bet the band is really tight as hell by now.

Ain't no such thing as too much Stooges.

And I just got DSL FINALLY last week, so I'll be checkin' out the goodies here too.

Yeah. I want the Stooges to play my birthday party next year. And I want Ron to let me play rhythm alongside his leads.

I want a LOT, don't I? Laughing

I've nailed Loose to a T, along with Down On The Street. Now I've been working on TV Eye lately. That one takes a bit more finesse but isn't too bad.

I've been playing in a band of lazy bastards for a while, anything too difficult or "fancy" just makes 'em reach for another beer. Stooges tunes are just right for getting 'em to stop fucking around and play.

I'll do that some night this week. Wink

My lead skills are pretty much commensurate with Ron's- back in 1969-70. Nowadays he'd kick my ass 7 ways to Sunday. Laughing
But I'm more of a riff man. I've followed the style of Keith Richards more than, say, Jimmy Page.

Thanks, and I agree. There are way too many "hot shots" out there that think playing a million miles an hour makes the song. Bullshit. The CORE of the song is what counts. You can shred all you want, but if the song melody and core riff sucks it doesn't mean shit.
