I didn't know he still did it in the first place but you've gotta think an almost 63 y/o man has to cut corners somewhere if he's going to keep up a touring schedule...

Oh man - watching the hall of fame broadcast, in the part where he walks into audience I would have paid good money to see him dive onto one of those round tables of millionaires.

I think it's absurd for him to be running around acting like last year he was 21. He could put on just as credible a show without subjecting himself to the kind of abuse that he seems to feel that he must. Anyone who thinks otherwise probably hasn't reached the other side of 50 and doesn't realize what it takes to act like you are still 20. In your head you are but your body can't (and shouldn't) take it. I say he should be who he is - a man in his 60s - and live long enough and injury free enough to be a man in his 70s or 80s.

Yeah, but i guess Iggy just can't keep still and needs to dance to his own music, look at his energy just before the band hit the stage at the Hall of Fame show...he can't wait to get going.

don't know, i might be wrong here, but sometimes it seems to me that he treats his name like brand, and acts in the sort of manner of what he perceives people expect when they buy an "iggy pop" product, a ticket to a show being the case at hand. i find it a bit tiresome, and sometimes it feels more like a schtick rather than a genuine form of expression(and that goes for the jeans only dress code as well). i think he's done enough searching and destroying in his days, and there are other ways in which he could channel the raw energy of which the music possess, without feeling obliged to satisfy the audience needs and live up to his reputation. what once had elements of confrontation and danger, now has elements of a cartoon, if not a parody. maybe i'm being to harsh, i don't know, but anyway, anyone who goes to see the band nowadays and expects him to do all tose "moves" and gestures is an a-hole anyhow.

Of course it's a show. Iggy is a professional who is there to earn money. And I'm sure that most of the time he enjoys the gig, and sometimes doesn't

I do agree to a certain extent with you, he has completley frozen himself in 1970 it seems, his music and performance shows no progression whatsoever, you don't see Lou Reed still trying to be his "transformer" era self or David Bowie running around in spandex still pretending to be Ziggy Stardust. I think he needs to put a shirt on and write some inteligent forward looking music that reflects his age and experience while still remaining uniquely himself. It seems he thinks he has nothing else too offer but being the shirtless prancing buffoon which is just not right.

I guess I will agree to disagree with you about the confrontation and danger in Iggy's performance.
Might I suggest you view you tube again? Those rich people look none too happy when Mr Pop comes a bit too close. If any paraody comes to mind, it is the parody that must have been in Iggy's thoughts about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Institution that took such a long time to recognize the Stooges!!!!!
To have inducted groups before the Stooges that formed years after them, when it was obvious to anyone with half a brain who their influence was, that's where words "parody" and "cartoon" come to mind.

I'm pretty much with these two sentiments. For me the reunion was about the Asheton's and now James. Iggy's probably only doing this for the $ and should have spent some on lipo if he's intent on showcasing his once lithe bod. The confrontation and intensity are long gone, obvious in the HOF floor roam. Those jerks needed something lasting to remember Iggy from, like scars, to tell the grandkids about. The reunion should have happened around '85 after the DuPrey collaboration when he went into a long slump. But, better late than never. Rockit, Ig!

And I'm not sure this decision is final. If he feels like it during the usual stage mania he may just do it anyway.
Was not hard to guess that he can not resist the temptation to jump on/in that boiling crowd. Respect to Strasbourg singers, they were singing really loud.
