I love both bands and have seen both quite a few times since they reformed..!!!
There's no way I can agree that the Dolls are better live,Johansen is great and his voice is
probably in better shape than Iggy's these days(although he is a few years younger!) but in my opinion they play far to many new songs and their last album is even worse than the Weirdness!!
I Was lucky enough to see them in London when they first reformed,with Arthur(R.I.P)
and that gig was truly great but since then I've found myself kind of being bored by the new stuff.The Stooges on the other hand I've always thought were great and when they did do some of the stuff from the Weirdness, In my opinion they managed to make those songs sound better live,and now with Williamson because of the wider choice of material they have to dip in to I think they're even better.
I grew up listening to both bands, and love both,but the Dolls these days to me are kinda
like a David Johansen solo band.
Maybe that's the way he always saw it...
