Yes this photo is from the Ann Arbor Armory but it's not by Ron Richardson it's by a friend of his Steve. Steve took other photos at the gig which should appear in the Jim Jarmusch Documentary. There's a photo of the 50 gallon oil drum painted white with green mystical glyphs that Scotty played as his bass drum in the early days.

| Just seen member Angusyd van Hyman's avatar photo...great, very different shot of the Stooges on the studio carpet 1970 shot used in the middle of the Funhouse gatefold. https://stoogesforum.forumotion.com/u269This shot gets repeated time and again but I love it... ...best thing is for me I've been recording in a studio (demos as a writer), and the studio has a carpet like that one!! Really made it for me, even though the stuff I'm recording is not Stooge like at all. I brought in the Funhouse album to show them and tell them how pleased I was, and I was amazed that the studio boss (who's been in bands etc) hadn't heard of the Stooges! | |

| The shots of Iggy and Handsome Dick probably are from this gig:
Friday, 30 November 1973: Prince George’s Community College, Largo, MD The Stooges performed in the gym at the college with headliners Blue Oyster Cult and the opening band, the Dictators, which had just signed a record deal and played their first show ever. Prince George’s Community College is a college just east of Washington DC. Bill Bouchard, brother of Joe and Albert Bouchard of Blue Oyster Cult, remembers the Stooges: “I was totally blown away by Iggy Pop, not for his music, but by his performance. He seemed like he was from another planet. It was my first and only time I saw Iggy, and he was quite a sight walking through the gym with the audience just sitting on the floor staring up at him.”

You're right again, here's a shot of Iggy with Joe and Albert. I would have loved to been at this show, 3 of my all time faves!

| I have seen that picture for years, but never noticed Dave doing the crossed finger thing. Take a look at the faces in the crowd of this picture, that's the intensity that Iggy commands. | |

| Wasn't it great when the audience were right hard up against the stage? That's the real stuff. | |

| I try not to beat myself up about tours that I could have seen but missed, but it's hard. First one was 1979: | |

| 1981 week long residency at 688 club Atlanta, GA and I even had a place to stay for free! I flaked out and didn't hear about it till too late. The set list for these shows was painted on the wall in 688 and haunted me every time I went there later. | |

| Didn't miss a tour after 1981 till 1996. If I knew it would be the last time seeing Larry Mullins with Iggy, I might have made a bigger effort to go. At least this tour got decent video coverage. | |

That's a damn shame, there are so few pictures of him, especially compared to the other members! It's no wonder though, people in the '60s obviously didn't appreciate the Stooges for their music, just for Iggy's stage show.
