Unganos Is In Circulation

So I got a hold of a copy. It sounds pretty good. Sounds like the same recording machine as "You Don't Want My Name" except you can hear the vocals clear as a bell. A bit of phasing and variation in sound as people walk in frint of the microphone. Basically playing the Funhouse lp. The version of 1970 is the best thing on there.They really pick up some steam by the end of that one. Sounds liike someone put some benzedrine in the Stooges ovaltine that morning. The tape cuts out after a couple of minutes of Funhouse (must have been a C-30 tape) and goes directly into an encore song which is pretty obviously improvised on the spot but is not the usual LA Blues free for all. Has a beat not unlike I Got A Right with the band jammin over the top.
I'm not gonna copy this for any one or upload it or anything (so don't ask) but it should serve as a warning to Rhino or who ever the hell has the rights to it that it is in circulation and they should seriously think about releasing it before anyone who wants a copy already has one. If I could get a hold of it then pretty much anyone will have it soon.

Unganos was taped by Danny Fields and sold twice so you are correct in your thinking that the same recording devise was used as on the NYC Electric Circus gigs.

Any chance that you know what night it was taped? Is "Way Down in Egypt" on it?

That's a good move on your part, but time and again we see people/companies not pay attention. Just look at the MC5 bio. That had the potential to make a fair amount of coin, but brother Wayne helped the bootleggers out by delaying the release...and now everyone out there who wants it has a free copy.

That's true, MJG196. Rhino should've put that out as a bonus on the Funhouse-remaster. Seems they've become tone-deaf idiots.

Torrents net may be trying to trick people into looking at their ads, it's not on Dimeadozen yet, and if it really was in circulation, it would probably turn up there.

Has it been confirmed for release by anyone? Isn't it just that we think they have the tape, and we hope they'll release it?

you know - I think we've been Chin Lee'd. Merkin, who has four posts total, shows up and claims to have located one of the holy grails of Stooge mythology and no one even questions it. The description he gives, although isn't word for word, sounds like it was written by someone who just read Open Up & Bleed. No verification, just a claim. I seriously doubt the validity of this post - but then again, i'm pretty fuckin' cynical. Either way - the proof is in the puddin' - and there ain't no puddin'.

Use any simple sound editing software (audacity, soundforge, etc.) to cut a clip from a song. Save it as a file - then post it to rapidshare or any other file sharing service (divshare, etc.)
