What a year...

- The Stooges
- Ugano's
- Popped
- 1971
- Raw Power
- Kill City

Who would have thought this much would come out 40 years later. A fine year to a follower of Stooges music.

Desert Island Selection: If you could only have one, which would would it be? I'd pick 1971 (and obviously not because of the sound quality).

its Ungano's!! maybe next year Michigan Palace 1974 will be sorted.

Good point.
Popped has been the best for me, admittedly I didn't get anything else but it's from the period of the band that will always interest me most, and as already noted, it really is a terrific package :)
I would have liked the first album re-issue but I got put off by all the mistakes that apparently were made there..

I think 'Popped' is the outright winner here.

As has been pointed out, 'You Want My Action' came out in 2009 so it doesn't count for this poll, and 'Kill City' is not a Stooges album so it doesn't count either!

So that leaves us with 'Popped', 'Ungano's', 'Raw Power' and 'The Stooges'. When we consider just how much effort went into the 'Popped' package it stands head and shoulders above the others.

Since Kill City is nearly my favorite record of all time I voted for that, but the real winner is us with all this stuff to listen to!!

Sorry about the labeling of this poll. I know Kill City is not a Stooges album and further, 1971 was released in 2009. That said, I hope the intent came across: lot's of new Stooges and closely-related material being sprung on the world in a short period of time.

New releases for 2011? Is there anything real still waiting in the wings or just the hope that such will be the case?

It's a good poll, and includes everything it should, in fact you beat me to it, I had planned to put up a similar poll once Popped and Unganos had got out to everyone.

Nothing would be better than new material for 2011. It looks like there may be some non-album-length downloads coming. I'll take it! And yes, freemind, it is about time to see a correct version of Metallic K.O. after all this time.
