This has been cancelled due to the poor state of Spain's economy so I hear. Can anyone who reads Spanish confirm this?

I have no Spanish, but this is the Google Translate parrot version -

'The Director General of LM Productions, and the entire team that made the company, feel forced to make the painful decision to postpone for the time being holding the COAST ROCK FESTIVAL, cultural event that was scheduled to be held in the reclaimed land of Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, on 24, 25 and 26 May.

'Announce this decision is a decision that we would never have wanted to adopt. Unfortunately, and even betting on it a huge financial investment that significantly impact our future as a company, we understand that the historical moment by facing our country and especially our region and the economic situation to the one under our society, not make up the framework to achieve viability and, therefore, the final materialisation of the biggest dream of our life business, COAST ROCK FESTIVAL.

'Moreover, as we believe wrongly, has also led us to withdraw the lack of institutional interest has had a project, however, has arisen in other regional media, national and international such as MTV, Brand, The Guardian, The Times, or sponsors in the same depth as relevant as Ticketmaster, El Corte Ingles, Iberostar, Iberia, Traysesa, Group No. 1, General Software, Hotel Taburiente Kuserv Canary Islands Airways, Travel Cool, I Love St. Cruz, JTI, and so on. They, the artists and their artistic offices agreed to be part of our proposal, and all companies that in one way or another part of this project, if understood Rock Coast Festival as a cultural attraction and of great artistic addition potentially revitalizing the island economy. They all know Please understand how difficult it was to make this determination LM Productions, just move them as our best intentions for the future, whose objective is to achieve consensus with which the artists that have already taken much of their fees, a new date and a more suitable in which to undertake the project with full warranty.

'LM Productions has spent every cent of its assets sunk and each of its members has left their lives trying to take forward a project that was a real dream and meant to enter the circuit of festivals worldwide. These efforts, together with those of some entrepreneurs who believed strongly canaries in the idea, even the help of family who supported us financially, has not been enough, unfortunately, to bring to fruition, for the moment, COAST ROCK FESTIVAL.

'We deeply regret also a great sorrow for the nearly 50 groups that were scheduled canaries act at the Festival and for which was a great opportunity to participate in a festival of international character.

'We are perfectly aware of what this decision means thousands of people who have relied on this project. By honesty we owe to all those people, plus the other hundreds of thousands to whom we have hours of happiness and enjoyment over our long and successful business career, the family of LM Productions is committed to try to compensate for possible consequences of our determination.'

Bummer, but I'm not surprised. Canary Islands are a 36 hour ferry ride from mainland Spain.

When you add in the price of airfare over there, there wouldn't be a lot of music fans with the money to attend, espeically with 25% unemployment in Spain and over 50% unemployment for people under 25.

The show in Sevilla is ON as far as i know, however. Vale, vale, venga!!!

I have a feeling we'll see a lot more festivals going under, especially in other European countries like Greece and Spain where the economy is collapsing before their eyes. These sorts of festivals can be expensive and many Europeans simply can't afford this sort of thing. I know I can't and I'm lucky enough to have a job (and a family and plenty of bills to pay...)
What a shame though - and at such short notice. Was anyone from this board going?
I wonder where that leaves the bands - are they still paid, or expenses still paid, or are they out of pocket too?
Cheers,
Richard

From Mullins' site, it looks like they're going to play Madrid on the 24th instead. Venue TBA.
