cancelled ?

All remaining dates on the current US Tour have been postponed - but not cancelled - as Morrissey has returned to England where his mother has been hospitalized and is unwell. Due to issues with his mother's health, Morrissey will need to remain by her side during this difficult period.

Those who have already purchased tickets for all upcoming dates are highly encouraged to hold on to their tickets and look out for the rescheduled dates. The new dates will be announced shortly.

Morrissey would like to thank everyone for their understanding and patience as the shows are being prepared for a swift reschedule.

Date got rescheduled for March 1, but with Patti Smith opening (no Stooges).

When the 'headline' act drops out why not have the gig go on anyway, with the 'support act' promoted to headline?? Why should Morrissey's absence mean a cancelled gig for Stooges fans? Just have the Stooges play the gig!

Henry Rollins bemoans the cancelled gig (where Morrissey was due to "close for The Stooges" haha) and dedicates a chunk of his show to Stooges music...

How many support act would have you prefered to have as " top bill " so far ? 1 in 10 ?

Are the stooges really the support band , you do see " double bill " packages often too

1 in 10 is probably about right. ACDC supporting The Who is one that springs to mind... also The Users supporting Cherry Vanilla, Westworld supporting Gary Glitter, The Slackers supporting Red Hot Chili Peppers... but you're right, normally they schedule the good guys last.

don't get me wrong , I love the concept of " support act " and giving the kids a chance , it's just that I've been rarely impressed , at least in a rock concert

No, I agree with you fabrice. I suppose the difference is whether or not the support is actually named and advertised. If the billing was Morrissey and/with The Stooges, then it's some kind of 'double-bill' as you say, and some folks will buy tickets for The Stooges (!!!), and they should have been able to see them, I reckon. Tough on Morrissey fans though! Wink
