I went. It was crazy! I was right up front on the barrier. There were three teeny-bopper bands on before The Stooges and then the Red Hot Chili Peppers after, so there was a huge crowd of people who had no idea who they were. The crowd (and the security guys, apparently) wasn't prepared. Gig-goers were dropping like flies during the set, with security pulling fainting people out of the crowd almost non-stop (it was HOT!). I saw the security guys huddle up before the gig with a copy of the set list, with somebody obviously trying to inform them of what was going to happen. When Iggy called for the invasion, I guess they all forgot it, because they were trying to run down anybody trying to get up on stage. A lot of people made it, though. Anyway, it was great to see Rock at it again. He might have seemed a little tentative; I don't know. The entire band was having a difficult time of it during the first half of the set because they were getting blasted by the sun. No real surprises otherwise; they only had an hour on stage. No Passenger. I'd been reading Watt's blog where he's always complaining about his knee; no kidding, it looks like he can barely walk! Overall, a great show and it was worth standing in the baking heat for 8 hours. I guess I was getting spoiled - the last 5 or 6 shows I've seen have been indoors in a lot smaller venues. I'll try to post some photos.

I'm sure Scott has some rust, it's been 15 months. It sounds like he loosened up some by "No Fun".

agreed, fun show, but most of the audience had no clue. they didn't seem to recognize a lot of the songs, etc. but everybody had fun (probably even the ones who fainted).

Those pictures are great! Were you in the moat? I ask because none of the band are soaked in sweat yet, so they must have all been taken in the first couple of songs.

i was about four back from the barrier. Most of those pics were early on, because it got too crazy after awhile to take pictures. It was hot as fuck, and the sun was right on 'em. October in Texas.
