| Hey All, There was a page up that had an extensive list of the Ig's tour dates, from 1977 onward. I am particularly interested in the complete list of his Fall 1979 North American tour dates. I have the commonly known dates from the USA, but was intrigued to discover the tour also included Vancouver and other Canadian cities. I would love to see the entire list. This link is dead: ...goto.glocalnet.net/igged/IGGY%20POP%20PLAY%20LIST%201977...
I have been a collector for over 35 years. This tour with the best band he ever had backing him (IMHO) is an obsession of sorts. I want to know all the dates, and procure as many recordings as is humanly possible. It is my hope there are some tapes from his Canadian gigs, plus others from the USA, that are not in wide circulation.
Thanks in advance for any assistance. RJM

| The dates for the fall 1979 tour are in the book I did in 1988, The Wild One (second edition). It started 27 October in Dover and finished 9 Dec at Hurrah's NY. I think that was one of the tours for which I had pretty much all (and accurate) dates.

| By the way, my favourite Iggy tour was the TV Eye tour 1978, with Sonic Smith's Rendezvous Band. I saw them at Domino, a small club in Stockholm (24 May 1978). A close second is the Lust For Life tour, the first time I saw Iggy (Konserthuset, 20 September 1977), which was something of a life-altering event. Like most others in the audience I was mesmerized. The concert was just before Lust For Life hade been released in Sweden, so getting the album and hearing many of the songs performed live was also a thrill.

| Fall1979NATour: In reference to the disappearance of that website, I feel very sad. I already commented on this forum. It was a website made by a fan for fans. A super important reference site. Hopefully it will be temporary and work again. | |

| Hey Per, not that it's a totally reliable source, but setlist.fm also lists a show on Oct 10 1979 at B. Ginnings Chicago IL. They also list a show at the Rainbow Theatre London England on Jul 11 1979. Oh, and I just noticed that my second edition of The Wild One is signed by Dorothy Sherman! | |

| The UK/European New Values tour lasted from 20 April 1979 (Manchester, Factory) to 8 June (London, Hammersmith Odeon). Aside from the UK gigs, the tour took in concerts in Paris, Amsterdam, Arnhem, Munich, Berlin, Hannover, Hamburg, Parma, Milan and Badalona. A few European gigs are missing from the schedule I assembled for the third edition of The Wild One, which never was published.
The 10 October 1979 gig in Chicago might be accurate, but somehow I doubt it... I have Chicago dates for 17 November 1979 (Park West Theater) and 18 November 1979 (B'Ginnings Club, i.e. the B. Ginnings you listed).

| The 11 July gig at Rainbow Theatre most likely was 11 July 1981 when he played Rainbow Theatre on the Party UK/European tour.

| Hey All, Seeing the two Chicago dates only exasperates me further. I just recently saw the YouTube video of "Kockin' Em Down In The City" at the Agora the afternoon of the show. People taped his self/audience loathing Spring 1980 tour extensively, when his band contained less talented players, and his mood was, let's just say, erratic. Some of his vocal improvisations during "Sister Midnight" are not the products of a happy person. I refuse to believe the only recordings that exist are the ones everyone has... | |

| I first saw Iggy on his 1980 tour of the USA and let me say those guys played their fuckin' hearts out for him. They might not have had the name recognition that the 79 band had but they were legit. | |

| I just took a look at Dirt's trade list and he actually has a few more 79 US shows than 80 ones. I don't think a lot of tapers came to Iggy shows during that era. There are so many more available from Europe 79. | |

Two sets! Somebody had to tape it... The March 1980 Agora show is well traveled. I wonder if the same person recorded the shows you saw... Its an obsession for me. It amazes me that the vast majority of band members (>95%?) don't give a toss about recordings of their shows. I have often wondered if Matlock, James or Kruger might have snagged a few for posterity, but it doesn't seem likely. Great info about the 2 shows... RJM

1980 shows, particularly from the USA, are plentiful to say the least. As we all know he toured extensively that year. I see now there is a legit video from a Fall 1980 American gig. I'll pass... First time I saw the Ig was at a dump called The Showbox in Seattle, WA. It was Fall, 1980. The announcer said "Welcome a living legend, Iggy Pop", and he came out to the opening chords of "Raw Power". RJM
