actually, what about SCOTT's other projects? Sonic's Rendezvous Band? (never heard of any others) SCOTT ASHETON:
THE PSYCHEDELIC STOOGES / THE STOOGES 1967/1971 IGGY AND THE STOOGES 1972/1974 SONIC'S RENDEZVOUS BAND 1975/1981 THE SCOTT MORGAN BAND 1981-1991 GUITAR ARMY - BENEFIT FOR DETROIT-AREA VIETNAM VETERANS 1985 WITH WAYNE KRAMER, JOEY RAMONE , STEVE BAISE AND SONNY VINCENT 1997 PURE FILTH 1997 DODGE MAIN 1997 THE STOOGES PROJECT / CODENAME STOOGES 2002 THE STOOGES 2003-2008
I think that Scott never played in Dark Carnival. Maybe I'm wrong. Thanks for the list, and I'm pretty sure Scott was in Dark Carnival. And he was in Iggy's backing band for a while wasn't he?

You can see on my site information about band (-> Ron Asheton). Iggy's backing band was Sonic's Rendezvous Band - Fred 'Sonic' Smith, Scott Asheton and Gary Rasmussen + Scott Thurston (tour 1978).

| pure filth is the title of an album rather than the name of a band. scott played on this with sonny vincent. the band was called rat race choir. scott played with dark carnival as a guest drummer . as per my previous post he also drummed for detroit band the farleys. | |

| Yeah he plays on one of the Dark Carnival albums in the 'Hot Box'. He also plays on both the Scots Pirates albums (1993 & 1995). And also the Rendezvous Bands Getting There album (1999).

This is info from my tape: PURE FILTH UPSTAIRS AT NICKS, PHILLY, USA SEPTEMBER 7, 1997 MASTER AUDIENCE RECORDING BAND: Sonny Vincent - vocals, guitar Steve Baise - bass Scott "Rock Action" Asheton - drums But ... you are right. Thanks for the correction. - dtklamf wrote:

Nigel Scott plays on both the Scots Pirates studio albums, but on my live recordings (1995), Johnny "Arizona" Eppinga plays the drums. Does someone knows more information about Dark Carnival with Scott (including dates)?

| On the Hot Box he plays on disc 5 which is from Haloween 1995, that's all it says not very helpful sleeve notes.

| Scott didn't play w/ Dark Carnival. (edit: I guess he made a few appearances). I wish Niagra hadn't either. The occasional vocals that Ron handled himself were way better. She looked great rolling around up there, but then started 'singing'. Her husband, 'The Colonel' used to come out to harangue the crowds.
My favourite solo Ron is still the New Race album. The rest of it was marred by poor sidemen IMO. Dave Gilberts' vocals on the New Order stuff is especially bothersome. (His later band 'The Rockets' had a Detroit-area hit w/ a cover of Fleetwood Mac's 'Oh Well').
The Stooges Project was big fun. I saw them at St. Andrews in Detroit and they were so loud and distorted that I did'nt even notice J. Mascis' or his lethargic vocals. If anything, Ron toned it down for the Stooges reunion.

| I love Declaration Of War, what a kick ass record, especially the first side, and 1975, which is also done well on Victim Of Circumstance. I thought it was interesting to hear the first four tracks from DOW in clearer sound on VOC. I like the DOW versions (sourced from Ron's tape copy) much more, maybe Ron should have patented his tape deck as a mastering tool. I wish they could have gone on with the first singer (someone drew the Bon Scott comparison, I can see that). New Order really did sound dangerous, interesting to compare that approach to Kill City. I really like Bored by Destroy All Monsters, too. Does anyone know if their Days Of Wonder ep is availble in any form? | |

| "Declaration Of War" LP/CD previously posted by Soldier is a 1987 reissue of the "original" 1977 LP released on Fun! Records label. The original LP doesn't include "1975" but sounds slightly better than the reissue (especially on the 1976 tracks: less hiss & distortion, deeper bass), I mean it was probably made from a 5th generation tape, rather than a 6th generation for the reissue… You can download it here: http://rapidshare.com/files/368928140/The_New_Order.zip | |
