| I nearly bought this on ebay the other day, but didnt as i have heard the recording is terrible. The winning bid was £3.99.
Is is worth bothering with or is it really THAT bad? Or should i just hold out for the Unganos album?? I have most of the other well known bootlegs (Whiskey '73 etc), but i'm assuming the 1971 album sounds much much worse?

| 4 tracks on it are as good quality as all the 73/74 live stuff (TV Eye, 1970, What's Ya Gonna Do, Rons Jam). The rest are significantly worse but there's something about the performance that means I play it every month at least! | |

| Definitly definltly worth it!! its another chapter, an unheard one, of stooge history, the sound is completely different to before the extra guiutar, and influence of williamson really add to it, its typical stooges tho, you can break them down, the stuff they played in 68 is different to 69, and 69 to 70 and 70 to 71 and 71 to 72 and 72 to 73/74 they change every year, no other band does that!! lol, but to hear those songs, like whats you gonna do and see me dancing you just hve to buy it, try and work around the poor quality and you'll find a treasure trove, its brilliant material | |

| HJW and MC i'm convinced...wow.. annoying that we can't find and buy the cd! and have to wait till somebody drops it on the net...and then have to fight who's who's gonna get it: The piteous destiny of a Stooges freak |

I did it through my dad's username, Steinberg09, as you could see I also heard about the quality, but still I am kinda fanatic when it comes to Stooges rarities The total cost is 6 pounds cuz it also includes 2 pound mail service or whatever

A shame that What's You Gonna Do and ROns Jam feature an Iggy impersonator, not Iggy himself, though!

| I managed to hear the 71 Rarities thanks Soldier!THIS STUFF IS GREAT!!! Iggy's voice in those days was sharp. razing. you could hear his craze. so dynamic. The impersonator is more shouting! Iggy singing I need you - there you hear the difference well if you compare these both songs. Would be something..to see this Steve(n) guy performing! he's sounds pretty good. the bass is super on this recording

Yeah, in another post concerning the St.Kiel gig 'I Need You' is also 'Fresh Rag' - wonder why it's like that huh Its probably cos iggy just made up the lyrics right on the spot, well mostly, i think he said he used to come up with a phrase for the title - often while smokin something - then he would just improvise the lyrics with somethin to do with that title on the nite, so cool, never heard of anyone else ever doin that, but yeh it probably started out as i need oyu and eventually just turned into fresh rag because he couldnt remember the lyrics, lol

| I've just listened to the 1971 bootleg that arrived today First of all, I'd like to say that..yes..the quality is bad..but -> I've heard bootlegs with a shittier sound than this one..if you can believe In other words, I will quote what GG Allin said: if you want perfection, go and listen to others' records This is a bootleg recording and despite that quality sucks or not - it's never desired ha ha.. It may sound foolish, but...I am very grateful to the guy who recorded that gig Generally all of the tracks are AWESOME..it is true that you won't hear what Iggy's singing...however I am really happy to hear that stuff I only think 'Who do you love?' is their own version of Bo Diddley's song..because it doesn't sound like Bo's song at all Well, that's what I got to say about the cd..I would like also to thank ZinZin for giving me her opinion of this gig Cheers! | |

Yeah 'Fresh Rag' sounds as if Sex Pistols remade it for 'Seventeen' or 'E.M.I.' and 'See Me Dancing' gives me that Motorhead vibe I remember also James saying that with solos it depended on a song..but I can hear Ron soloing only at the beginning of 'Who Do You Love'. Overall, songs are very interesting
