Stooges headlining? Finally is right! This is great news! Good goin for ''Iggy and Co.'' as efestivals put it, lol, seems theyve finally proved themselves, like the stones with the bigger bang tour, the licks tour showed them as money grabbing late-50-yr-old farts, the bigger bang tour showed them as virile 60 yr olds who cud still do it, and better than most ppl half their age, i think the same things happenin with iggy/stooges, ppl thought; "waow these old guys came out of nowhere, and waow theyre fuckin cool too, i wonder how long they/he can do this?" now they are seeing that not only does the music hold up (very well i mite add!!) but they can still put on a great show, u'no, good to see em headlining! hope we'll see more of this

also, i dunno if its a headlining show or just s gig, but theyre headlining the thing in dublin im goin to see, support from the kills!!!

It is amazing though. The Stooges are far more popular now than they were back in the 70's.

Gogol Bordello - quirky or what! or is the official label 'Gypsy Punk'.
just run two words together and you get a whole new genre...

anyway apparently 'Funhouse' is their fave album of all time or something, so that's all right. Or one of their favourites, anyway.

Saw Gogol Bordello a couple of weeks ago in Leeds on their tour, i'd been waiting to see them for ages.
They were incredible! I think the best smallish gig i've been too!
Everyone should definately check em out who's going to the London gig!

ah Cathy this is unbearable.....because I can not be there and what does that mean 'very special headline set'?...this is almost too exciting! Does it mean they're gonna play Search and Destroy...or is James coming for a 1 song play...or new songs to be heard?

Most places i've read about this gig it says "Only Stooges UK gig on sale". does this mean there'll be more? or is it meaning isle of wight included - cos that's sold out - which would mean this is the only gig onsale, if that makes sense haha.

Where did u read ''special headlin set'' zinzin? damn, if they dare do raw power stuff (or new material!!) without me there!! altho if theyre gunna integrate raw power era material at that gig then they may roll it out for the next tour, that could be the surprise iggy said he was guna do for the next tour, hopefully he'll do the same at the dublin gig

I think they're just saying it's special cos the Stooges are headlining. And they're right of course. It wouldn't be nearly so special if Supergrass were headlining

Interesting point about the only UK date on sale Emma. I thought that sounded odd as they were playing IOW too. But I suppose that is sold out so no longer on sale.
