Iggy is such an entertaining speaker - when / if he retires he should embark on a lecture tour. That would be fantastic.

yeah...I'll definitely go if that's possible.

Iggy's reps say call the universlty directly for ticket availabilty for the general public.

Now that's what I call a hot ticket!

"Sorry but all Union events are for our members only."

PS: You never know about student run events tho, they can be, well, they're new at it, let's say. I'd call anyway and find someone administrative.

You're right about most student events, but the Oxford Union has been hosting debates and lectures since 1823, though the present board must all be fairly new, so it is worth asking if outsiders can get in.

retirement will be history in future (my) generation

damn, this is the only time I've ever wished to belong to the Oxford Union!

This has got to be preserved on video for all of us to see. I would pay for a DVD of it.

It would be great, although unlikely, if a DVD did come out. I think he could be better at this than Henry Rollins. One of my friends interviewed him for Kerrang and he is a top raconteur apparently, although there are big gaps in his memories of the early 70s and 80s

they sometimes cover these talks for TV.. I've never seen a full presentation, but I've seen clips of various famous speakers at the Oxford Union. I think the Dalai Lama is going to be there at the end of this month!

I wonder what Iggy will talk about? god I'd love to go..

Iggy and the Dalai Lama, thats so strange, one of the most admiral ppl in the world and a guy from ann arbor who was in a band, lol

seems so odd, must be a few iggy fans in the staff lol
