| Finally Ron Caved in on his principles! The Stooges made a change in their 5 year old setlist and played Search & Destroy in Madrid last friday. Makes me wanna see more stooges shows this summer | |

| Half of me is thinking, oh poor Ron why did Iggy make him do something he didn't want to do?
The other half of me is thinking, SHIT! WHY DIDN'T THEY PLAY THAT IN LEEDS, 2007?!

Funhouse > sort of different opening bass riff and much more Ron guitar?? Seems that during Real Cool Time Iggy chose a few people from the crowd to come on stage!? wow! nice!!

| Hmmm. I'm guessing the other suprise will be either... I Got A Right - Ron played guitar on it in 1971 or Penetration - the only other Raw Power song apart from Search And Destroy that Ron likes or She Creatures Of Hollywood Hills - in most bootlegs Ron is solely credited for it or The Passenger - could Iggy have talked Ron into doing one of his solo songs? or Ann / We Will Fall - the only songs off of The Stooges original two albums they haven't preformed live or Lost In The Future - the Fun House outake? or Asthma Attack/I'm Sick - could it be? A Stooges track that's not been playeed since 1969? I'm really excited! | |

| If it's not "I Got A Right" then my money would be on either "Lust For Life" or "The Passenger". I know they aren't Stooges songs, but they would certainly go down incredibly well at the festivals.
Or, how about a brand new song?
Cheers,
Richard | |

| A new song would be cool... but Lost In The Future would suit me well (even if I'll probably never see them live). We Will Fall and Ann wouldn't fit in the setlist, I think - not "hard" enough. Today one of those songs, tomorrow a new album... | |

| I guarantee you it won't be "We Will Fall". "I Got A Right" wouldn't surprise me at all though. | |

| Wow, altho only two surprise new songs in the setlist? i hope its i got a right, i suppose they cant completely cave, tho i wonder why ron did -if he did cave at all, which he probly didnt, theres no reason why he had to play a song he didnt like seeing as they can still come up with songs at will almost (they wrote like 40 songs for weirdness)
i hope its a good one, i got a right or gimme some skin or something
cant believe this
thanks for the information and links Cathy HJW

| we will fall > hahaha...that would be a real suprise!
if there'r gonna be other classics as suprise...think it's gonna be 'The Passenger' or/and 'I Got A Right', both are the most festival and new audience proof. Gimmy some skin maybe also...but dunno if Iggy's voice and the band still can reach that sharpness and speed what makes the song specific. |

| think so? i cant imagine them doin an iggy song - tho i suppose the floodgates are wide open now with raw power songs being played
and ron would probly have less to say about passenger or lust for life
but they would definitly tick some of my boxes, im desperate to see a proper iggy pop solo show and this will be the only chance i guess
does anyone know if he'll every do another solo record or tour? or is it just stooges til death kinda thing?

| yr right hsjw.....'the floodgates are wide open'..hahahaha....as idea, the barrier is broken now to play more. This must has been thought over very well by The Stooges guy's...I'm curious where the barrier is gonna be laid now.
A lot of Iggy stuff could very well be played by The Stooges > than Iggy wouldn't have to do his stuff on his own (i'm desperate to hear his stuff live) ah would that be impossible totally smashing great! but that's really gonna be a bridge too far i think.
when's gonna be the first interview with The Stooges again (cathy?)..can't hardly wait to hear what they have to say about songs they're gonna play this year! |

| I'd love to see Iggy solo but for me The Stooges are the best band ever. I FAR prefer them to Iggy & The Stooges because let's face it, they're practically two different bands. It's a wonder Ron played Search And Destroy but Iggy has been nagging him for sometime.
Don't get me wrong Iggy's great even on his most dire solo records there are some great songs BUT its The Stooges. The band that played 1970 (one of the most crazed songs ever written) while Iggy walked on an audience's hands and smeared peanut butter on himself. No rock band has or ever will reach that height of crazed mania.
The Passenger would be great to hear live but then The Stooges that's THE STOOGES would be reduced to another Iggy backing band. And I don't want that to happen. I'd rather they broke up than were reduced to another The Trolls.
The Trolls are good but it's THE STOOGES! C'mon people it's not just another Iggy promoting vehicle, this is the greatest band on the planet. Iggy will always be centre stage but only with the Ashetons (in some shape or form) can he reach musical perfection.
It may not be apparent in The Weirdness but its there.
God bless you Stooges. Jesus loves you.
