| A friend of mine went there... "First gig ever when I think I'm gonna die but, fuck, I've lived a true rock show". He didn't know people climbed onto the stage, so was really surprised... Apparently even Sting said something like "I'm glad to play here after a living legend, Iggy Pop". | |

| Angusyd you have to know that at TW Classic were these 'boxes' (pits) in front of the stage to 'protect' people..for the big crowd. One pit (left) was only for vips and the other it (right) for only 700 fans. The pit for the fans was already filled at 13.30 o'clock....with mostly f* Police fans..there were only a FEW Stooges fans...so no wonder yr friend was surprised he didn't knew anybody. Almost all other Stooges fans were standing BEHIND that pits (like 70-100 mtr away from the stage) and had to look at a half empty VIP pit with mostly disinterested people....and the other pit filled with mostly Police fans who didn't had much interest to go on stage with Iggy. So no wonder there broke out a heavy riot between the Stooges fans behind the pits and the security guards > the Stooges fans wanted to get ON THAT STAGE !!!!!! only about 18 managed cuz they were standing in the right pit at 13.00 o'clock.
An organized festival like that is a crime to my opinion!

| Hup, first time poster here, been lurking for quite a while though. Does anyone have any MP3s of a live performance of Little Electric Chair? The album version is alright, I'd say it's a lot better live. (y)
Goin to see Stooges for the first time this saturday in Dublin. "Well, come on!"

Shit, that's as bad as the UK! Pff apparently and unfortunately they are. I guess because Sting makes sophisticated music for intelligent people. And the Stooges perform their tricks.I read in HLN about the gig that the VIP space was so huge that a stage invasion was pretty much impossible and it caused some agression with the fans. Sad stuff.

| Sting can suck my gonads. He can take his "sophistication" and insert it rectally.
The STOOGES are the reunion of the decade. And I think that even the former non-fans can see the greatness being recreated.

"..the Stooges perform their tricks"; Are you CRAZY gsk??? The Stooges don't perform their tricks...they have the best songs there are; standing the time, CHANGING during time..alive songs!! They give THE BEST performance there exists in a James Brown and Rock (and Roll) tradition...means also the performance changes during time!! + they have NEW REPERTOIRE!!! The Stooges working their ass off to give the best almost 3/4 time of the year. NONE of that you could say about The Police..I would rather say the police are performing their ole tricks And eh...what means sophistication? under that thin superficial layer there always is this human beast...depends how deep you dig it's not a joke..that Sting sayd it's an honour for them to be with The Stooges on the same stage! - Loose1969 wrote:

| The Police are like a pub band attempting reggae. The only white guy that sounded convincing doing reggae is Joe Strummer but he's a legend. Otherwise it should be left to Bob Marley. Due to what Iggy does on stage (which is fantastic) and Ron Asheton's simple guitar playing (which is the work of a genius) The Stooges will never be taken seriously. Snobby pretentious assholes will be simply put off by their name. The same people that say The Stooges have lost their edge and should retire are the same people that dissed them in their original run. In other words - narrow minded, conservative twats. | |
