| I've got a live version of this, I think on ..Where the Faces Shine, and a fiarly insipid version on the Party out-takes.
THey introduced it when Brian James joined the band, just after Soldier.
(Iggy also used to sing Shadow of your Smile when the gear broke down during Stooges shows, including at the Scala gig... either to show how much he liked Frank, or to piss people off).
I also have a tape of him singing How Insensitive, and Autumn Leaves. I'd lvoe to hear him do an album of stripped down classics, Johnny Cash or Nick Cave-style... if it was tough, as opposed to jazzy, it would be v cool...

First off, would you mind posting these Paul? (if they infringe on compyright or something then its ok if you dont want to) also... - Quote :

i was thinkin about this today, i'd love to hear a real crooner album from iggy, maybe not even that, but a slow, early tom waitsy, blues kinda thing, i dunno if iggy has that in him, i think the anarchist gets in the way of the bluesman inside of him maybe but i'd be great to hear another good iggy solo album, but i think i could appreciate another 5 - 10 new stooges albums before that tho....lol HJW

| Iggy really does have a lovely crooning voice, and I enjoyed the song, or what there was of it. I can't believe what a bunch of - to quote the man himself - a-s-s-h-o-l-e-s were in the audience. Never understood why idiots pay money to make asses of themselves at shows when they can do it for free anywhere else. Anyway, thanks for posting the song! | |

not to quibble...however...this is slightly inaccurate... ...actually... Soldier was released in Feb. of 1980. Brian James played with Iggy on the 1979 fall tour ( before Soldier was released)...Dog Food, Knockin' 'em down, and Play it safe were performed... Iggy also did "One for the Road"...on the '79 fall tour... BEFORE Soldier...

| If we are quibbling... he he... Soldier was recorded in the summer of 1979, before the Brian James assisted tour, and then not released until 1980. Cheers, Richard | |

cheers ! LOL I stand corrected! But yes, Brian James joined after Soldier was recorded. He told me that they'd introduced OFMB to the set, and altho I have loads of Iggy w SRB boots I find it hard listening to all of them, they murder the Lust For Life stuff so badly (altho the Raw POwer stuff rocks)
