They did Dead Rock Star on escaped maniacs, and they did it moderately in 05-06

They must not have been very happy with "Loser". The only great moments in it are Iggy's vocals on "Theres a bottomless pit...", "You take me for a fool" etc. I normally fastforward the song just for those bits.

So what's left from those first two albums they HAVEN'T played?

They're not going to bother with 'We Will Fall', of course. Have they ever played 'Not Right'? 'Ann'? I suppose the latter is like 'Dirt' in that it doesn't fit the high-octane mood of the gigs so they leave it out.

'L.A. Blues' would be great to hear. Smile

they always do LA blues, its just its original form, and a lot shorter - Freak

i'd love them to play Ann, btu i duno if it would go as you say

how about some new stuff!!

im salivating at that description of the msuic ron and scott sent iggy, i think he said it was ''the most brutal msuic" or somethin like that - now that sounds promising and typically stooge!!

Didn't know about 'Freak' - that's interesting!

New Stooges music - hm. I know this is the Stooges board, and I'm among serious fans, but I've got mixed feelings.

Look - the 1969/1970 incarnation of this band was just out of this world. Incredible band, and they made two incredible albums. Of that, there's no question.

But what can you expect almost FORTY years later? Fairly? Even tho' they're (amazingly) as brutal live as they ever were, can they still come up with the goods in the studio? The Weirdness didn't exactly send the nay-sayers back with their tails between their legs, did it?

i wouldnt give up on them yet u'no, if they can light up a crowd the way they do night after night, theres gotta be something creative burning inside lol sorry

anyway, yeh, i think the weirdness was just a bit of skittishness, we've heard iggy wanted somethin more commerical, hence leaving off the better songs (o solo mio/claustrophobia/sounds) which ironcially were more stoogey u'no

buti dunno i think theres still somethin there, and i cant wait for it!

(plus i like all stooges, stuff, equally really, 68 - 74, and weirdness- its all amazing to my ears, i think every incarnation of the band was as you say out of this world)

"Not Right" was used as an encore in 2003 and a few years after that. Like HJW said "L.A. Blues" is played in its original form, "Fun House" transforms into "L.A. Blues". I would LOVE to hear "Ann" but glad they aren't playing "We Will Fall". I personally think a few slow songs wouldn't go a miss, they would give Iggy a chance to regain his stamina.

How brilliant an opener would "Ann" be? The show would start really slow with a lot of people getting very confused then suddenly the "Dance Of Romance" section would kick in! Very Happy I would love to hear that.

No problem, I hope their next album is more along those lines.
