| Iggy & The Stooges at the Palais des festivals de Cannes was already a paradox in its own words. The venue is well known for its annual film festival, not for being a concert room ! Obviously we were supposed to remain seated during the show but somehow all the fans managed to reach the front row and even create a mini moshpit in the center alley With its small capacity (maybe 1500 people ?) and the energy that we gave to the Stooges, they gave us back one of the mosth thrilling gigs of the year. Even if it started painfully for Iggy would did not managed to reach the top of the amps on Down on the street (he still succeeded on the third attempt) Iggy jumped into the crowd many times and spent quite a long time to thank the audience. The best was yet to come as he left the stage after I got a Right. Indeed, he came back with a leg of 4 more songs ending with something that sounded more like a novelty than a classic. In fact, it was "ONLY" the most expected song ever !!! RAW POWER. The lyrics were the same, the music was kinda hard to recognize (Ron played it in the weirdest way ever and Steve on saxophone added an odd background) but it was it. RAW FUCKING POWER. After a bit more than a hour and twenty minutes Iggy left us with the bigger hard on we had in years. THANK YOU IGGY, THANK YOU STOOGES !!! MUCH RESPECT Gui Stelist : 01. Loose 02. | I love Ron's take on anything. If he even started playing the accordion again I'd be happy. | |

| Didn't we have this discussion a while ago? I think it ended with The Stooges brassband being mentioned...AGAIN | |

| On the one hand YES it was interesting because it sounded like a NEW song and also because I'm so fuckin'addicted to Raw Power but on the other hand NO, not that much because it also sounded like the WORST cover of the song they could have done. Ron is to me a fantastic guitar player but not when he plays songs that are not his... - Nadja wrote:

| I'm desperate to hear this now! That youtube link on another thread doesn't really allow anyone to make a considered judgement as the quality is so shitty. Interesting that they would dig up "Raw Power" but change it so much that Gui thinks it's almost like a new song. Or the worst cover of "Raw Power" ever. That's pretty harsh. I hope it wasn't quite that bad!! Cheers, Richard | |

| It was still the best gift Iggy could give to his fans, no matter how it sounded. Much respect for that. - adams66 wrote:

| I think its more of a gift Ron gave to his fans. Iggy would play "Raw Power" at any gig but for Ron to agree to it is something entirely different. The three new songs in the sets are all for the fans so good on Ron. | |

| We've had this whole debate before, when Ron first dared to play 'Search and Destroy'. Seems like he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't | |

| i dont want ron playin it, well obviously if it sounds bad, but also if he doesnt like it, maybe do a year of it, so us fans of raw power can hear it, then take it out if he doesnt like it u'no, though as much as i dont like him disliking the songs or watever, im so glad i may get to hear this someday (dunno when but i will if they keep it in the set long enuff) | |
