1969! The Original Stooges Forum (and more!)

Hi everyone,

I've set up a new site- just started it today in fact. Though the primary focus is on the ORIGINAL Stooges, it is also a site for 60's music in general. Quite a different spin, really.

NOTE: I am in no way trying to steer anyone away from this site! I love this place and respect everything that HL has done for all of us.

All conversations pertaining to "Iggy & The Stooges". Iggy solo, punk and glam music, etc. will all be deferred here.

I hope some of you older farts like me will stop in anyway and contribute! All are welcome.

probably i'm wrong but it seems to me a bit as if yr not completely satisfied with this forum > as original Stooges forum.
So you wanna aim more on the old Stooges days with rather not talkin too much about Iggy and his developments?

Please don't misunderstand. This place has mostly a focus on "Raw Power" material, Iggy solo and glam/punk. Which I really love a lot of. But I always felt that the original band-and the era from which it came-was more my speed in general. I'm old. I have a lot of great memories as a child back in those days, and I'm still fascinated by the culture.

I have no intentions of abandoning ship here. I'm just creating a site for "the other side" of the Stooges' world. I still plan on being here, to get more up to speed with later developments. My site is no substitute for here, like I said.

Everyone is welcome, but I'm not trying to take away from this place.

But as Ted just said, the more the merrier! No such thing as too much Stooges. In fact, there isn't enough.

that is so strange, cause i see it as being more focused on early stooges and not iggy solo, not as much i mean, perception is strange

anyway, im signed up too Loose, dunno how often ill be on, barely have time for this place, but ill try, also like the music and culture from 60s!

And yeah, perception is a funny thing sometimes. But in the end, it's all good.

I'll join because I love 60s garage, The Velvet Underground and I believe that the first incarnation of The Stooges is the best. BUT if theres anyone talking about loving "Yes", "Fleetwood Mac" etc then I'll spam them like hell

Yeah, I know they started back in '67 and '68. But the problem is, most people will only be familiar with the sappy mid-70's version of FM and go on about them. I'd have to put up a disclaimer on that issue.

Plus this isn't about prog-rock (Yes) either. We'll just have to work out the bugs as we go.

Well, it was worth a shot. Maybe.

But there just isn't any need for another Stooges related forum, I should have seen that. So with that said, unless something really changes I'm killing the board on Jan. 1.

To those from here who stopped by, thank you. I appreciate it.

ON second thought...perhaps I'm being a bit hasty here. Since the above post, three people have joined and I've gotten some requests to just hang in there. So I will.
