| Does anyone have any information of that Murder of the virgin show? From what ive heard, Iggy made a full concept show that he wrote songs to and acted out live(ie ron ashton in the nazi uniform) and it ended with him being thrown into the ally. can anyone shed some light on this? | |

| If I remember right Iggy was thrown out into the ally while tied up in a sack. The photos are pretty famous, I'm sure you already know them. Apparently Iggy shouted "Cut me" at the audience till somebody gave him a knife and he cut himself with it. He asked Ron at pretty short notice to come along in nazi uniform with a whip (he ended up using electrical cabel of some kind). Ron just stood at the side of the stage while Iggy told him to whip him. Ron couldn't do it though.
I think somebody gave information about the musicians there not to long ago.
And its not to be confused with the "Blood and Glitter" show where Iggy, James and some others played covers.

| Ron said himself in an interview somewhere that it was electrical cable that he ended up using. | |

| I may be wrong but some/one of the murder of a virgin songs are on metallic 2x k.o. yeah this is what someone told me... murder of a virgin was on august 11th 1974 but... metallic 2x k.o. was recorded in febuary 1974 before M.K.O. and people say metallic ko was the final stooges gig untill 2003 so murder of a virgin was the last stooges gig? well all I'm sure about is there ARE recordings from the Murder of a Virgin somewhere waiting to be found.... | |

| Metallic KO was recorded at the Michigan Palace. Side one on October 10th 1973 and side two at the final Stooges show on February 09th 1974. The expanded Metallic 2 x KO uses a couple more songs from each performance - there's no reason to assume anything different, especially as sound levels and recording values indicate that this is the case too. Sadly no recordings of the Murder performance have ever surfaced. That's not to say they don't exist, but they have never circulated if they do. Cheers, Richard | |

| It´s kinda odd that there´s no audio or video of this show, since it´s kinda like The Stooges´last hurrah, in a way... | |

| Was this the sole public performance of Iggy between the end of the Stooges and 1977?

He also performed with the Doors at the Whisky in July 1974 at a tribute performance for Jim Morrison and in October 1974 at the "Death of Glitter" aka "Hollywood Street Revival and Trash Dance" where the New York Dolls also played.

| Wow! Iggy and the Doors - I would have liked to see that. Guess no audio available (just did a quick search). "Death of Glitter" sounds promising too - is it known what he played and with whom? | |

| At "Death Of Glitter" he played with Ray Manzarek, James Williamson, Scott Morgan(on harmonica), Nigel Harrison and Gary Mallaber. According to "Open Up And Bleed" they did songs like Route 66, Subterranean Homesick Blues and Everybody Needs Somebody To Love. A strange choice of songs for that event I think.
I'm not 100% sure, but think this might be the only gig with both Williamson and Manzarek, as they didn't get along at all.
If there would exist any recordings(never heard any rumours even) of the Doors gig or "Death Of Glitter", I hope somebody here will let us know. Same go for "Death Of A Murder Virgin" and "Kings Cross" of course. I'd take a wrecked audience-recording of any of those, any day.

| I would have thought that if any recordings of these gigs had been made, that they would have appeared by now. But you never know... | |

| Probably yeah. It's a pipeline dream, as the best time to release Stooges material in occurrence with the new interest of the band would had been a few years ago.
I do believe that Michael Tipton have something up his sleeve though, but that is most probably the missing parts of Metallic Ko, in witch he have to fight off Skydog first, for the rights to a tape already stolen from him in the first place.
