| I doubt there are any recordings of the death murder of a virgin show. But I'm not sure though. Who knows. Btw, not a bear, but a gorilla. And the story is true. There is even a picture of Elton John approaching James (whose expression is like 'wtf?!?') and Iggy on stage. | |

| That Elton / Gorilla story - from The Complete Iggy Pop -
At one memorable engagement at Poor Richard’s club in Atlanta, Elton John came to see the band. Elton had been playing across town and arrived just as the Stooges were starting their set. He expressed a desire to play with the band. Road manager Chris Ehring was unsure, especially when, for reasons that no-one can adequately explain, Elton thought it would be cool to dress up as a gorilla. Quite where the gorilla suit came from is another mystery but halfway through the set the audience were confronted by the bizarre sight of a tubby English singer in a moth-eaten gorilla suit chasing Iggy Pop around the stage. What nobody realised was that Iggy, having taken way too much PCP, thought that Elton was a genuine gorilla. He was terrified, and his running away and freaking out was not an act.
You really couldn't make this stuff up!
Cheers,
Richard | |

| I remember reading somewhere that Elton John was starting his own record label around that time, Rocket Records, I think it was called .....and Elton was interested in giving Iggy a record deal, but nothing came out of it, cause the Stooges broke up. I don't know if this is true... | |

- The bass player at that show was Nigel Harrison, who later became famous as the bass player in Blondie. I think James was in guitar that night...So, least the local guys were really good players ...

| I'm think some of the early Kill City mixes might've been forwarded to John Cale also.
Someone really needs to turn Tony DefRies upside down and shake out his pockets. He must have tons of stuff. According to Wiki, Defries is in the alternative energy sector these days.

Well, the easy one (and the only one I know) is Nigel Harrison on bass (who went on to fame with Blondie). As for the drummer and guitarist - anyone???

| I watched this clip with Nigel and he says the drummer maybe from zolar x. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o1vGYfV4MlQI wouldn't be surprised if James Williamson and Scott Thurston were involved as well as former Doors members since Iggy jamming with Doors members at the time. | |

| From Open Up and Bleed, Iggy Pop biography He [Iggy] sat down on the edge of the mattress where Nigel and his blonde Bowie-lookalike girlfriend Suzette were attempting to snooze, insisted Nigel pick up his bass, and started singing a simple riff, telling Nigel to keep playing a drone in F sharp. It transpired that Jim had worked up the song - wich was based on the Velvets "some kinda love" and revolved around the lyric "put jelly on your shoulder".[...] Ordering Nigel to turn up at Rodneys English Disco at nine, and mentioned he was off to find a guitarist, a drummer and, cryptically a virgin, Iggy dissappeared onto the strip. He found his guitarist at the Coronet.[...] No one is sure where Iggy found his drummer, but, unsurprisingly , he found it impossible to locate a virgin, and instead had to settle a gay youth who was dining at Denny's, just down from Rodney's. It says too that Iggy borrowed a pair of Jim Morrison leather pants from Danny Sugerman. | |
