Perhaps it was the whole 'recovering from the demise of The Stooges and heroin' deal....

| Holy crap, That is me!!!!!
The guy next to me is Glenn Craig, a photographer I was friendly with. I believe this is at Unganos in August of 70 but it could be the show in Asbury Park which was August 15 , 1970.
Does anybody know who took this photo?

I used to call it the "bizarro zone" but Lion's Den is good too!

| GFE,
Very cool to see it after all these years. I never had any pictures of me with the guys. I guess that was because I was always the one taking the snapshots.
It wasn't often that I was that close to the Ig when he was performing. As the gigs got more wild, I tried to stay out of Iggy range. I preferred to be as close to Ron's amp as I could get. I loved to feel the music pulsing through my entire body.
Those really were the days !

Natalie, I emailed Dustin Pittman earlier this evening to see if he was the author of this shot, and he replied back indicating that yes it was his shot, and it was taken at Ungano's.

| SCOTT,
Thanks. I ran into Dustin at the booksigning 2 weeks ago.
I was reasonably sure it was Unganos but I remember sitting next to Glenn at both locations.
This trip down memory lane is getting better and better.

| Good stuff. Glad that it was you Natalie. Pittman took a zillion shots at the Ugano's shows, so you might be in a few more.
I read somewhere online last year that Pittman was putting out a photo-book of the Stooges Ugano's gigs. Anyone know if this still happening?
Also, anyone know the source of the 'feral Iggy' pic in my avatar? Silver paint on Iggy's hand so I'm thinking '71.

trailerborn, this terrific shot was authored by Leee Black Childers, listed as Detroit, 1973 (from his Myspace page).

| I heard from a friend of Dustin's about a month back that the book is 'hopfully' still going to happen.
That Rubber Lips photo of Iggy is by Leee Childers and is from the Ford Auditorium gig in March 73.

| Thanks Scott & mc. I guess the lighting just makes the hand look kind of silver. Trust me, the Stooges are the only band/artist/writer/whatever out there where I am even remotely this anal-retentive. | |

| That is the silver spray paint. You can see it in his hair also.
Lighting would not make his one hand look like that.
I wonder if the photo will sell on ebay and for how much $$.

| I'm pretty sure this is the second time it's been 'round. It might have had a high "Buy It Now" price last time, though I wouldn't swear to it. Depends who sees it, a framed promo poster for the first album just sold for $999, minimum bid, with only one bidder. Anyone want to put their hand up to that one? | |

| I wonder what the publicity shots signed by the 4 original Stooges would go for today?
I sent them out for free to fan club members who asked for them. I used to carry them with me to shows and get 4 or 5 signed about once a month. I only did 4 or 5 at a time so nobody would run away when they saw me coming with the envelope!
Lots of changes in 40 years!

| It was 3 sofas ago so there is no hope for that one. But if I did ever find any of the old stuff like the drumsticks or the picks, I would put everybody's name in a hat and pick the winner. Old habits die hard. I could never sell that stuff. I got it for free at the time.
I had a test pressing of the first LP and I had a reel to reel of FunHouse weeks before it's release. Who would ever think how much they would be worth today?
