I was the one who got the pianist to play the song. We were at one of Ron's favorite restaurants and I noticed that the piano player was slipping Bowie songs and a couple of other things into the usual piano bar mix. I went over and asked him if he knew any Stooges. He explained that he knew Ron and knew that we were the group from his funeral and that one day Ron (who ate there regularly) told him that as long as he was always eating there the guy should learn some Stooges material. So, he and I quickly go over the chords and he excuses himself to check the song out on the internet. About a half hour later he comes back and begins to play the song in a style that someone there described as sounding like a Bach cantata. It was absolutely beautiful and many of us were reduced to tears.

One of my fondest memories of the funeral.

Thanks for posting the link.
A good read, albeit sad, about the great man himself.

Interesting read. Looks to me like some blatant inaccuracies in there, though. Not sure if they bothered to check their facts.
