| RON ASHETON: The Stooges’ guitarist, who died earlier this month, was a man whose monolithic, fuzzed-up tones ricocheted through the last forty years of music influencing generations of players in the process. But few knew the man behind the sound. Paul Trynka looks back on Ron Asheston’s life. Iggy Pop, J Mascis and James Williamson pay tribute. http://cover.mojo4music.com/Item.aspx?pageNo=1796&year=2009I just found PT's "Open Up and Bleed" in the public library. Good thing Sarah Palin lost She would have had it banned from public consumption. cb http://iggypop.org | |

| Think it's about 4 pages, I just had a quick flick through the other day. There's a nice big unseen picture of Ron from the Ed Caraeff Funhouse photoshoot and various other photos mostly from Robert Matheu that we've seen before. | |

| MOJO is the only UK music mag worth getting unless you're into really weird shit and then WIRE is quite good too. This month's Ron article is mainly a kind of overview of the Stooges history and a few personal tributes. It's worth having a flick through, your local newsagent or WHSmith should have it. | |

| yeh, well everywhere that used to sell it, and there werent that many anyway, have stopped (either that or im gettin there late) for about a year, its a major city too, lol
ive been looking at the website, the subcriptions, and theres one that says u can do it direct debit and its posted to you, it says you can/have to pay for them individually, does this mean you have to buy say a years worth, like contractually but you have to pay for them individually? or can you choose which months you want?

Thanks! Will get this ASAP! By the way, the only reason why I asked was because I saw the RS one and it was one page for a minute there I thought that it was the Mojo article, but I figured that Mojo would have a longer tribute thingy so me asking how many pages it was was in a shocked expression. Yeah... I

| I think Paul Trynka said elsewhere on this site that he'd post the obituary here once the issue of Mojo is off the shelves. | |

| It's worth buying anyway if you can. There's some nice pics and a good CD too for a change. Nothing to do with Ron, it's Nick Cave influences and collaborations. | |

An other great picture is the one with the whole stooge gang from 1969, I've never seen it before. Great Tributes. Very well written Paul T!

| Thank you for an amazing article Paul! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! It was a great read, with great photos and great interviews. And a longer article than I thought he'd get (of course he deserved a whole magazine). Thanks again Paul. | |
