Zeke Zettner

Hey I have been looking everywhere for pictures of Zeke... to no avail... I have found about 2 photos if anyone has seen anything please let me know i am dieing to collect some pictures...

I figured I'd bring this thread back rather than start another since my questions regards the mysterious zeke zettner. I was wonderfing if anyone knew if he was actually a skilled bass player or if he was never seen as more than an emergency replacement. I know there's not a lot of evidence to go on but for those in the know, was he as good or worse than saw the equally shadowy Jimmy Recca?

I knew them both, and saw them both live. Matter of fact, I took the photo posted at the top of this thread. I knew Zeke for a longer period of time because he was a roadie before joining the Band.

In my humble opinion, Jimmy was a far superior bass player.

Taken off my blog, I have the only known copy of that photo which I posted last year. I have one more from that photo session that I'll post someday as well as many unseen Peter Hujar shots of the '71 line up (all from Danny Fields). I also have some great shots of Ronnie at home with his gun collection, Iggy's room at Stooge Manor, and some other oddball stuff.
Maybe a small booklet some time soon....

The Matthew Marks Gallery in New York sells various Peter Hujar photos, Stooges shots amoung them.

When I contacted them a little while back they told me:

"There are Hujar photographs of Iggy Pop and the Stooges available. They are $7,500. All of the prints are vintage and printed by the artist. If you are interested to come by and look at them, please let me know and I will arrange to have them brought in from the estate."

Holy fuckin' shit! So Dustin Pitman's Unganos shots at $4000 are quite cheap! LOL.

Your blog is "thehoundblog", right..? Actually, I found it elsewhere- but they must have copied from you in the first place.
But this isn't the first time this photo's been published though. I remember seeing it for the first time in the eighties. Either it was on a bootleg, or in "Next big thing", "Bucketfull of brains" or some other magazine. Not really sure. But it was at the same time as I got hold of the first issue of "Rough power" - the 10". which featured the other line up from 71 (with Recca and Williamson) on the cover (photo's named "stooges2.jpg" in your blog). And btw, that photo is everywhere on the net these days. Zettner and Cheatham names are always mixed up.

How does one go about posting photos on this forum? I can't seem to get 'em to upload, I have a few that I don't think anyone has ever seen that I'd like to post here first. I tried choosing the image box and when I select 'em from my photo files they don't load. (I'm a mac user, so if anyone can help I'll try and put up a few goodies this week).

You'll need to stick them on photobucket or something first. Then put the path in the image box. I managed to do it so it can't be too hard

Thanks to those who wrote me w/the tips on Photobucket, I'll get an account there. My scanner's acting funny so I'll be buying a new one later this month, then I'll scan some of the rare pix I have, meanwhile there's some on my website including Ronnie @ home in '96 w/his gun, Ronnie & Dannny Fields @ Max's '73, and two, now fairly common Peter Hujar shots from the two '71 line ups. I believe the shot of Ronnie and Danny Fields is my copywright. Scotty Thurston is on the left of them but has been cut out of the photo. I believe Danny cropped Scotty out before he posted that article he wrote with the photo after Ron passed.
