- The Whisky 16/9/73 show as far as I know is only Revenge CD as Live at the Whisky and on Snapper CD as Live in LA73 with one extra track at the end - Heavy Liquid from another night at the Whisky. I've compared the Revenge and Snapper CDs and they sound exactly the same.
Hope that helps. Do you know if the "Live in LA 73" listed on Amazon as being released by Original Masters UK is merely a UK re-release of the Snapper release?

- A few months ago I picked the collective Stooges forum brain to try and establish what unofficial (Bomp etc) releases are needed to get all of the live/rehearsal stuff. The result was the list about a third of the way down this page:
https://stoogesforum.forumotion.com/jesus-loves-the-stooges-f1/revenge-and-bomp-releases-which-ones-are-still-needed-t1332.htm Thanks. Easy Action, BOMP and the various corporate record companies involved should all join forces to work out a deal with the Stooges to create The Complete Stooges Anthology using all the resources possible to get the absolute best sound out of all the available sources. That would be incredible.

| There certainly needs to be a 'complete Detroit rehearsals' set at some point, straight from the original masters (wherever they are). It's ridiculous how they're spread over all these different releases in varying sound quality. How hard would it be just to do a 3 or 4 (or however many it takes) CD box with absolutely everything from these tapes, plus maybe a 1-CD companion volume that has the best take of every song for those who don't want to wade through the full set. Come on, do it someone! | |

| Agreed on the need for a gigantic magnum omnibus of ALL the '73 rehearsals and live boots. It got to the point that I was buying the same songs on different releases just for the new liner notes & photos.
This hypothetical Stooges Anthology should include the version of 'Johanna' on Rubber Legs. It meanders a bit in the middle (in a good way) but Iggy & James are just on fire. Way better than the other Stooges rehearsal versions or the (solitary) live version I've heard. The Kill City versions have better lyrics but that Stooges synergy is missing.
Also quite fond of one of the Electric Circus versions of 'I Got a Right' on the upcoming EA box. After a sloppy false-start they re-group and absolutely KILL on the second attempt. To my thinking this is the best representation yet of what a powerhouse these guys were live.

My problem in attempting to compile a definitive anthology is one of trying to discern from all the different releases which tracks are duplicates that merely have alternate EQ-ing or have the beginning and/or end chopped off thus altering the track length.

| Here is my revised, not yet complete list. Everyone please fill free to insert into the list any of my glaring omissions:
The Stooges (2 CD DELUXE EDITION) Fun House (2 CD DELUXE EDITION) You Don't Want My Name (4 CD collection from Easy Action) Rough Power (BOMP - The Stooges original mixes) Raw Power (Columbia - Bowie's official mixes) Raw Power (REMASTERED EDITION - Iggy's remixes) More Power 1972-1973 (2 CD collection from Cleopatra Records) Original Punks (2 CD collection from Demon Music) Heavy Liquid (6 CD collection from Easy Action) California Bleeding (BOMP) Live in L.A. 73 (Original Masters UK) Double Danger: Latin Casino/Academy of Music, Live 1973 (BOMP) Michigan Palace 10/6/73 (BOMP Records) Wild Love: The Detroit Rehearsals and More (BOMP) Metallic KO (2 CD DELUXE EDITION from Skydog) Kill City (BOMP Records) The Weirdness (Virgin)
Again, the most daunting task is figuring out what tracks are duplicates and deciding which of those duplicates are the "best" version. Any suggestions on how one would go about such a task?

| I personally wouldn't call "Kill City" a Stooges record. | |

Yes, it isn't technically a Stooges record, but vital to the Stooges saga nonetheless.

| Are you compiling a list of important records or is it a an anthology of the most important songs? | |

I'm attempting to compile everything worth having from the beginning to now. Pretty much a complete and definitive Stooges catalog in as close to chronological order as possible.
