Just a quick note to say I've added photos to a recent report on my recent lunch with James W and Glen M, who hadn't seen each otther since James walked out of the (disastrous) recording sessions for Soldier in Wales, around September 1979.

There's also a link at the bottom of the page for an interview with james, frmo July last year.

Do take a look at the site, folks, & let me know what u think

Paul

Paul, Loved the book. Wasn't Ben Edmunds supposed to be writing a book about the MC5 a few years ago? Or did I just imagine that.

Ben was. He is indeed a great writer, and I always loved working with him on MOJO - I was honoured to commission that Marvin Gaye feature that eventually expanded to become the book on What's Goin On.

sadly, I think Ben got too close to the MC5 story, and kind of sat on it for too long. It's great for all writers to have a tough deadline, but I think he wanted to finish the book first. Now I think he's put it aside. But I would love to see him revive it.

It's a terrible shame, first because he is the one that could really tell that story, and secondly because the world needs a major Edmonds book. On form, he's absolutely one of the best writers who ever wrote for MOJO, or any other publication - a great nose for a story, good at tracking people down, and he has real insight.

True indeed. Thanks for the update.

Also just read Peter Robinson's "Piece Of My Heart" with Mojo subscriber Inspector Banks on the case of a murdered Mojo writer. Robinson's on top form, as always. Excellent stuff.
