I just purchased a recent Funhouse reissue by Rhino records, it has a big good-looking sticker:
Well, if you like Funhouse (don't you?) and if you like vinyl…STAY AWAY FROM THIS S***. Worst sound ever. Flat, AM-sounding, dreadful. Even worse than Sundazed reissue. Listen (vinyl rip samples: 30 sec from Rhino 2010, then 30 sec from original US pressing):
Rhino 2005 2-LP set (with Funhouse sessions tracks) sounds much better. Any reissue sounds much better. How low can Rhino go?

Thanks a lot, JP...saved me some $. Does this new Rhino pressing say what plant it was pressed in?
Nope. I guess they share the pressing plant with Cleopatra records.

Poor sound? But nice to see that now they're squeezing the pips of smaller outfits like Sundazed by jumping on the Stooges 'analogue masters' idea. I just hope they remembered to f*** up the tape speed. C***s.
