Interesting words - tho' the line "The Golden Age of Iggy and The Stooges continues unabated" seems inappropriate.

But still looking forward to James's album of covers.

Gotta disagree vehemently. Look at the last 8 years of re-issues...the Easy Action box set...the Raw Power package...the Fun House tapes...Ungano's. All this was unimaginable back in the '80s and '90s when seemingly a handful of us (in relative terms) were championing the band.

Ok.  But surely by definition the Golden Age of a band must be when they're working, when they're creative, when they're producing their greatest works.  Not when they're all-but-retired.

It seems nonsense to say that "The Golden Age of Iggy and The Stooges continues unabated" now that the Ashetons are gone.  The Golden Age is most definitely over when 3/4 of the founding band members are gone and the others are retired.  Although admittedly James continues on alone, it's hardly The Golden Age of the band.

Incidentally some of us were 'championing' the band back in the Seventies.  Wink

So will you be happy with "The Golden Age of Stooges Re-Issues and Curios"? I maintain there is a huge up-side in a band getting its dues after so many years but concede Iggy and the Stooges are in their autumn years. Smile

I'll never be happy  Laughing  but I do know what you mean.   There's certainly never been more stuff out there.  We should be glad.  To be honest tho' I do miss the days when one precious LP got worn out before another came along, but that's just the usual nostalgia bullshit. Wink

Golden Age? Those last couple of studio albums felt more like a Golden Shower to me.

The Golden Age of The Stooges was over a long, long time ago. But in terms of quality, previously unreleased material, yeah I can accept that the last twenty years have been a Golden Age of sorts.
