| I think you're right. I think I'll wait and see if he adds anything else. He usually plays Paris and that's easier to get to than IOW | |

| Anyone here going to the Isle Of Wight for tomorrow's gig? If so we'd love to hear how it went.
Also, does anyone know if any of the IOW festival will be broadcast - radio or TV?
Cheers,
Richard | |

| ITV says they'll broadcast it, checking to see if the Stooges set will be on, you know how sometimes he gives permission, sometimes not... Also the rumor Iggy is renting his own speedboat to get there! cb http://iggypop.org | |

| Thanks cb. I'll check out the ITV schedules - I bet they'll show loads of the Pistols and hardly any Stooges... Bah! I heard that speedboat rumour too. Nice one Iggy! I hope the rest of the band will be speeding to the IOW too - can you imagine Ron and Scotty and Mike and Steve queuing up for the ferry with everyone else!! Cheers, R | |

| From the ITV website -
The Isle of Wight Festival 2008 Saturday 14th June ITV 2 11pm - 12am
Music, interviews and backstage gossip from the second day of the festival, which features performances by Iggy and the Stooges, the Zutons, the Enemy, Kate Nash and headliners the Sex Pistols.
Just one hour?? Won't be much Stooges then...
There's also an hour tonight and Sunday night - same time, same channel - if you are interested...
Cheers,
Richard | |

| OMG I almost fell of my chair laughing at their answer! They are still tossing around the idea of a "James Bond" entrance. They WILL be on the ITV broadcast. cb http://iggypop.org | |

| http://www.nme.com/news/iggy-pop/37358Iggy And The Stooges have pulverized the Isle Of Wight festival with a primal performance tonight (June 14). The veterans took to the stage and immediately kicked out several punk classics. "We are the underloved, overtrodden fucking Stooges," announced Iggy Pop as they opened with 'Loose' and 'Down on the Streets' from their classic 1970 album 'Funhouse'. Iggy Pop then spent much of his time in the large area between the stage and the crowd, complaining: "Why don't they just build a freeway here?" Getting on all fours on the grass he barked his way through 'I Wanna Be Your Dog', then made several failed attempts to crowd surf. In the end he had to be content with berating the heavy security presence, singing 'No Fun' into the face of one particularly unfortunate, blushing guard. He then returned to the stage grinning and waving at the crowd before guiding the Stooges through a heavy version of 'Funhouse'. During its freak-out climax Pop repeatedly yelled: "Try to be yourself. Nobody cares. I am you!" Ending with 'Search And Destroy' the band returned for an encore of rarity 'I Got A Right', which ended with Pop pushing over bassist Mike Watt's speaker stack before, turning to the crowd to beat his chest, he limped from the stage. Iggy And The Stooges played: 'Loose' 'Down On The Streets' '1969' 'I Wanna Be Your Dog' 'TV Eye' 'Real Cool Time' 'No Fun' '1970' 'Funhouse' 'Skull Ring' 'My Idea of Fun' 'Search And Destroy' 'I Got a Right' | |

| Only showed No Fun. Started singing in front of a security guard - how red was his face! Don't like the way Virgin Radio only referred to them as just "Iggy"... Can't wait for the Dublin gig - which is less than 48 hours away! | |

| Booo! ITV only showing one song, but hey, better than none. Iggy seemed to be limping quite a bit but it was still pretty awesome can't wait to see em | |

| Iggy's been limping for quite some years now. It's not too obvious when he's leaping around, and whatever the problem is (I beleive it's a bad hip), it doesn't seem to slow him down, but when he walks the limp is quite pronounced these days. Cheers, Richard | |

| One of his legs is shorter than the other, he damaged his leg and hip at sometime in the 1990s while on stage. Did anybody else see that Iggy documentary a while ago (I think it was on the South Bank Show)? You saw hime leaping about live with The Stooges and then at the end of the gig you saw him hobbling back stage, he almost needed to be carried. Proof (if it was ever needed) that Iggy gives a 100% at all his shows. | |

| I'm getting used to see Iggy limping by now. It's making his performance even stronger. This NO FAKE, FUCK YOU appearance; you get what there is..the whole 100%! - Parry The Wind High, Low wrote:

Parry, their program is filled up the whole summer...guess Iggy must know how to handle the hip problem to stay fit each concert. Don't forget he's doing Qi Gong. |
